Want to meet Carlos Boozer and Taj Gibson?

An interesting day, I got invited to two media events today for Chicago Bulls.   It's days like this that make me wish I didn't have four jobs and have to work 70 hours a week.
The first one is to open up the new House of Hoops with Carlos Boozer
and Taj Gibson appearing (Gibson's not on the poster, but I was told
he'd be there among others).

For those of you who like to collect autographs, it's often a difficult process to do at games, and these types of events often allow you to get autographs and sometimes a few seconds to talk to a player (though that varies, sometimes they're pushing people through too fast for you to say more than hello).

Either way, this might be the first shot at getting your new Boozer jersey signed.

The second one was an event run by Converse with Kyle Korver doing some basketball for the families of sailors at the Great Lakes Navel Base.   I've known several military families, so I'm always a fan of these types of events.   Converse also runs an every other month open gym for basketball at attack athletics (this is part of that promotion, but this one is closed to the public).

If you're interested in the standard Converse open gym, here's a couple more tidbits about it:

  • "Families of salaries...". You were daydreaming about Mark Deeks when you wrote that, weren't you?
