LeBron chooses to sign with Miami

Well, that was fun.

Wait, no it wasn't.

The most protracted, self-centred and hideous ego wank-off of the NBA's history is finally over, and it ended in basically the worst way possible.

LeBron James is going to Miami.

Thank you to Bryan Colangelo for taking on the contract of Marcus Banks and facilitating this entire thing.

  • HE JUST OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT!!!

  • So much for his "brand"

  • Pat punk Riley gets his way, amazing I never figured Miami to get Lebron

  • Im sorry but Fuck Lebron and his Dumbassness.

I hated him before, but now I truly hate him.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

I understand the frustration, but let's try not to swear.

  • In reply to MarkDeeks:

Im sorry, it was the heat of the moment

  • In reply to MarkDeeks:

    fuck yourself. fuck.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

Can the bulls get Mike Miller now?

  • In reply to Snypershawn:

Don't want him, unless it is for one year and less than $5 million.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

And...Lebron stays on my HIGHLY DISLIKE list. You know, it's almost better because that way I don't have to try to like him. I mean, I have to look on the bright side you know?

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

Nothing the Bulls do for the next 5 years matters. As a NBA fan I'm truly heartbroken but not because he didn't choose Chicago but because there won't be any suspense whatsoever for the next 5 years at least. I watch for the drama and for the opportunity of upsets and team's potential to win in the future. All of that is gone now.

  • In reply to MADman24:

Agreed, the new big 3 have single handedly ruined the nba. I was actually hoping for him to stay in Cleveland just to prevent that

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

Congrats LeBron, you'll now be remembered as Scottie Pippen at best.

  • In reply to DontLetsStart:

He's better than Scottie now. Our hate of the situation doesn't make LeBron any less of a player. In fact it's precisely because we know how great he is and that he doesn't need that much help that everyone is so upset right now.

This sucks but that doesn't make LeBron less than a top 5 all time player.

  • In reply to MADman24:

How can he be a top 5 player of all time if he's never won a title butt nut?

  • In reply to MADman24:

Any word on the contract he signs? I'm wondering about the years. I expect he'll do a three or four year deal so that he can watch himself on every sports channel again in said amount of time.

  • In reply to WearShades:

He sacrificed the 6th max year by going to Miami. It's 5 yrs.

  • In reply to Crowned:

I know he can't get 6 years, but he was never going to sign a 6 year deal in Cleveland anyway. The question is did he go for 5, or less as his way of keeping his options open.

  • In reply to Crowned:

    Career suicide. DOUCHE BAG!!!

  • In reply to Crowned:

    First off, the anger:

LBJ joining the Heat does NOT guarantee them a championship!! They've maxed out on cap space and can only fill their roster with minimum salaried players!! And should one of the 'Soft Three' get injured, their season is over! I highly doubt a D League call up can fill the shoes of Wade, Bosh or LBJ.

I highly doubt Erik Spoelstra is well equipped to manage all those ego's! LBJ never listened to Mike Brown, Wade had a go at Spoelstra during press conferences, as did Bosh!.. The Big 3 did it in Boston in '08, because there was a clear commitment from everyone. And let's face it, Chalmers is no Rondo!

    Second, the love:

I think people forget that we have D Rose. A player who is only going to get better and better and eventually be in the discussion of MVP. We have an incredible roster as it stands.

    Rose
    Deng
    Boozer
    Noah
    Gibson
James Johnson (best Gatorade distributor in the game)
+ $19 million in cap space!.. We can pick up some good quality pieces and really create some depth!

IMO, that roster with the right additions can definitely be a top 3 team in the East. We've got depth people, and a brilliant minded coach. I still think we can take these guys!..

Chin up boys.. Just you wait, we've got something special!!

  • In reply to rustumt:

This Bulls team now has its own version of the Bad Boy Pistons to overcome and try to figure out how to beat.

The competition should be fun and frustrating, unfortunatley we still need to find our new Jordan, with Kevin Durant reuping I don't see one out there.

  • In reply to BigWay:

To me if we can find a Joe Dumars type player, we become the Bad Boys Pistons...without the Bad Boys part really...Noah is our Laimbeer, Boozer can be Rodman and Sally, Rose is Isiah Thomas. We need a Dumars and we're good to go.

  • In reply to Scoot26:

    you are reeeeeeaching, Scoot.

Noah doesn't have that mean streak of Laimbeer...
Boozer is not holding down two spots...and in NO way is as good a rebounder as Rodman...
Rose's J is not even in the same ballpark as Isiah.

the Bulls are the Bulls....a good team that needs someone to REALLY step it up.

And Lee getting traded for Morrow and Kelenna is not a good sign for the rest of the summer.

  • In reply to Crowned:

Praise jesus. Now we can get on with our lives. And our lives are much better without Lebron.

  • In reply to Crowned:

he didnt look happy at all. the people in cleveland shouldnt be burning the dudes jersey thats a bit much.

  • In reply to sharynlewis:

Yes they should. Not much at all.

  • In reply to sharynlewis:

I can understand Cleveland's frustration, imagine if Jordan had done this after loosing to the Pistons a second time.

    Two bright sides to this:

    1. I don't have to route for this guy. I've disliked him for years. (Not out of any jealousy thing, I just think he's a douche. I like Kobe, so go figure.)

    2. It will be fun to route against Miami. No one, outside of the dweebs at ESPN, will route for this team. I've had numerous conversations over the years, actually had one tonight, with people all over the world who loved the 90's Bulls. That won't happen with this trio.

  • In reply to Hoover:

    Agreed!!!

  • In reply to Crowned:

He didn't sacrifice squat, he is still getting paid(massively)in 2015 when he will still be only 30.

  • In reply to Crowned:

I was having a dilemma if I should root for Lebron if he came to the Bulls after all the BS he put up. Now, I won't have that problem. My heart goes out to Cleveland.

  • In reply to WearShades:

Reinsdorf must be ecstatic. He won't have to pay the luxury tax for a long time, because we won't be title contenders for a LONG time...

What makes matters worse is that Stephen A Smith was right...

  • In reply to WearShades:

Mike Miller and David Lee now please... Not that the bulls need David Lee.

  • In reply to Snypershawn:

David Lee is being signed and traded to Golden State to a 6 year $8 million deal in exchange for Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike.

  • In reply to MarkDeeks:

At that price I wouldn't want him any way

  • In reply to Daniel7123:

    That's less than Boozer.

  • In reply to Snypershawn:

I get why people are ticked off about how this was handled, but I don't really see how you can find fault in the choice. Every team he considered had serious plusses and minuses. He's going to play basketball with 2 great players, that happen to be among his closest friends, in a city that would be fantastic to live in while young and rich. Now, let's go find some shooting and flush out the roster.

  • In reply to Snypershawn:

Oh well. Unless Rose gets about twice as good in the next two to three years or the Nuggets FO is in love with Deng's 2013-14 contract ($14,312,125), looks like we're stuck with two # two options on our team for the foreseeable future.

Pittman, Varnado and Butler are decent role players. Fucking Pat Riley.

  • In reply to Snypershawn:

I think Lebron had this figured out all along. From stating he is changing his jersey number to #6. From the night wade and bosh ate dinner last thursday where the middle chair was vacant for lebron. To tonight where bosh gives lebron a 2 thumbs up before Lebron's decision was made. These 3 clowns stroked the Bulls from day one. I hope wade brakes his ankles and bosh damages his shooting wrist. And then lebron will be the only star and Karma is a bitch, he will be in the same situation as he never left CAVS. Most hated team!

  • In reply to MADman24:

Them teaming togehter means nothing. Let's see how they gel, but I believe filling that roster will be harder then Riley thinks.

So FO go out get the players to beat these guys. It can and will be done.

  • In reply to DontLetsStart:

These young guys today have no heart, they don't know the meaning of discipline and hard work. This guy I can not believe he is doing this. This team will no doubt be the most hated in the NBA. And we all know they will try to get the Bulls record of 72 wins. No respect what so ever for this guy and that team.

  • In reply to Reese1:

They will be a threat to win 70 games every year, or at least until Wade gets injured.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

We feel bad as Bulls fans considering we seemed to have a really good chance to get him and considering the effort management went through to clear cap space, make the presentation etc. But imagine how Cavs fans must feel right now. Loyalty this, home grown that, winning is everything, bla bla bla. Go on TV on prime time and stab your team in the back. Wow. Takes balls and 0 respect to do that. He might be a king in his little world, but he'll never be a legend. That statue already stands outside the UC.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

    BIG SURPRISE.

The guy is a KITTEN. That's being nice.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

Miami is a horrible basketball town. Pat Riley is a mastermind. LeBron chose second. Second best roster to join and second option on the team. The King bowed down. He didn't want to carry a team on his shoulders. Bold move no doubt, but polarizing. I don't blame the Bulls brass; they're just not Pat Riley.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

ill be happy as long as the bulls dont resign pargo

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

On another note, interesting how he chose to change his number from 23 to 6 for next season and Riley retired MJ's 23 at Miami a few years ago. Did he make his decision this morning about where to go like he said or was that decided earlier this season. Either way, you can't trust that guy like you can't trust him to come through in the clutch in the playoffs. At least he'll be able to pass it to Wade now and let him take the last shot. Ouch...
