Adam Morrison to work out for the Bulls tomorrow

When most of us were talking about signing Ammo, we were referring to the Chocolate Rain-like Ammo, Anthony Morrow.

As it is, we might be getting Vanilla Drizzle.

According to Wizards reporter Michael Lee, Lakers free agent swingman Adam Morrison will work out for the Bulls tomorrow; the reasons for why are not immediately obvious.

Morrison is one of the biggest draft busts of all time. He can make tough shots, but because of how unbelievably unathletic he is, every shot is a tough shot. Morrison can't play defense, doesn't want to rebound or pass, and seems to make every shot harder for no obvious reason. On the rare occasions that he gets to play, he continues to take the kind of shots that he took in college, but without the justification for doing so any more.

Honestly, I think we're all right for shooting at the moment. And if we're not, let's get an actual set shooter who can defend his position. Or any position.

  • Only plus side I can see: if we sign him we'll have as many rings on our team as the Heat.

  • So, MJ picked two of the biggest draft picks among top 5 picks. But that said there were too many busts in that draft after Morrison...I think of a couple of guys who panned out after him.
That way, most of Paxson's high picks are atleast in the league or in starting positions.

  • Problem solved.

  • If it's to be a roster filler who plays very sparingly I'm fine with it.

I imagine they want to see if Thibs might get through to him. If someone does, he might have some value yet. He should be able to excel in a Kyle Korver type role, he just has to want to.

  • In reply to msalivar:

Morrison's been coached by Larry Brown and Phil Jackson. I have a feeling the issue isn't that a coach hasn't been able to get through to him. He's just not very good.

  • In reply to WearShades:

That's more than likely true. But he does have a good shot if he can learn to utilize it at this level. I see no reason he can't run around screens and shoot for a high percentage if he would just buy into an offense and work on catching and shooting.

  • In reply to msalivar:

I'm fairly sure nothing else has been asked of him the past few years and yet here we are.

  • In reply to msalivar:

Please tell me morrison requested to workout with us ! Just give James Johnson more playing time and let him grow its much better than bringing this joker in

  • In reply to UtahBullsFan:

JJ's athleticism along makes him a more valuable piece than Morrison. However, I'll reiterate what I said earlier. If he's a bench piece to fill out the roster I'm fine with it.

  • In reply to UtahBullsFan:

We need a guy who can defend the wing positions on our roster. Adam Morrison is not the answer. I can see the bulls getting dominated by most of the premier shooting guards in the NBA next season.

  • In reply to UtahBullsFan:

I'm starting to think we're in trouble Haslem just signed a 20million dollar deal with the Heat.....

On a side note the Jazz are getting Al Jefferson how well do you think he will do replacing boozer? I ask because I go to the Jazz vs Bulls game here every year and with how much crap talk Jazz fans put out there its basically like game 7 of the finals for me lol

  • In reply to UtahBullsFan:

I heard the battle for Al Jefferson is between the Mavs and the Jazz. I don't think its a done deal yet. He will be a good replacement for Boozer...he's not as fundamentally sound but he is a better interior scorer.

  • In reply to UtahBullsFan:

Ahhh No not Morrison! We do realize we have Morris Almond on our summer league team...the guy averaged like 28ppg in the dleague!!! That probably translates to about 8-12 nba points. Hes already better then Morrison. Sign Ronnie Brewer, Morris Almond an Shaun Livingston. Bring back Brad Miller and call it a day. Maybe sign Kwame Brown for beef downlow.

  • In reply to msalivar:

Korver can get open for shots. Morrison can't. This is crucial.

  • In reply to WearShades:

Don't diss the 2-time NBA champion.

  • In reply to whonka:

    a world class cheerleader

  • In reply to whonka:

It's a NCAA PLAYER OF THE YEAR reunion in the making.

    (Redick and Morrison)

  • In reply to whonka:

WHY??? If Phil couldn't get anything out of the guy, why even bother. Hope the Bulls aren't that desperate.

  • In reply to whonka:

I know what the hell is going on?

  • In reply to whonka:

This guy would be burried on the bench.

  • In reply to whonka:

Wow great news I was just reading that during melos wedding cp made a speech about him and melo joining amare

  • In reply to whonka:

Yeah apparently now NBA stars will build championship/contending franchises not the teams themselves/owners/GM's. And all Stern said was Miami did a nice job clearing cap space, and had a "good plan." Ignoring the implications of the ground breaking player collusion/power grab. Gutsy.

Yeah some plan. Dwyane Wade and Riley punked these immitation men LeBum and B(P)osh (Spice) into joining Wade's crew on the good ship "South Beach Drunk Town." God, Lebron James becomes Wade's sidekick..?? Jesus. This generation of players just went.. I won't say it.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

    Ok, Dan Gilbert...

  • In reply to whonka:

Why are the bulls wasting their time with Adam Morrison? Its amazing Cavs owner gets fined but nothing happens to the heat.

  • In reply to whonka:

Adam Morrison is the new Brian Scalebrine.

  • In reply to whonka:

Plus the "agency" they all coincidentally belong too had a major hand in this as well. I guess Riley would be Charlie. Wade is Bosley..? And LeBum and B(P)osh are Charlie's Angels.

With Maverick Carter and Henry Thomas guest starring as First Villain and Second Villain.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

Why so bitter...get over it dude

  • In reply to whonka:

Who couldn't resist JJ Redick and Adam Morrison in the same lineup?

  • In reply to boogernights:

Don't forget Korver. That'll give us the unathletic White Chocolate line up of the decade.

  • In reply to jt563905:

We should just go get Aaron Gray back and then sign Chris Quinn..

    Line up:
    PG - Quinn
    SG - Reddick
    SF - Korver
    PF - Morrison
    C - Gray

Who wouldn't pay top dollar to see that?

  • In reply to jt563905:

    Ahahahahaaa!!

  • In reply to WearShades:

He'll be a roster filler until he gets hurt again which has a habit of happening, oh, every other month. He'll be a perfect street clothes companion for Deng.

  • In reply to WearShades:

With the pieces that the Heat are bringing in to round out their roster, they're now indisputably the favorites to win it all. We're in trouble, and will just have to hope the chemistry falls apart for the Big 3.

Is it just me, or is this blog very slow to post news, etc. Mark/Doug, we're starving for more Bulls discussion points!

  • In reply to folky15:

There's no Bulls related news today. They do play a summer league game at 4 EST. They're playing the Nuggets on NBA TV.

  • In reply to folky15:

Nothing's happened today. The signing of Udonis Haslem doesn't really relate to the Bulls.

  • In reply to MarkDeeks:

Anything that makes Miami better, and retaining Haslem makes them much better, really does relate to the Bulls, and in this case negatively.

  • In reply to folky15:

Mark/Doug how good would acie law be at backing up drose? Nate is pretty close to signing with the celtics is there any other free agents that we could use as a backup PG

  • In reply to folky15:

If this is true, why don't we just re-sign Joe Alexander to the minimum? He's 10X more athletic than Morrison.

Are we not considering giving Michael Finley a look?

  • In reply to 919293bulls969798:

Excellent point on Alexande, the same thought immediately crossed my mind when I saw this post.

  • In reply to 919293bulls969798:

Shaun Livingston was more athletic than Morrison at the very instant that he blew out his knee.

If the Bulls sign this slug, I might have to resign after nearly 40 years as a Bulls fan.

  • In reply to 919293bulls969798:

By the way MJ dumping salary(Chandler for Dampier) in Charlotte. That draft pick is looking better every second. We better not give it away like Mr Crappy(GM) keeps trying to do.

  • In reply to 919293bulls969798:

With all the shooters going off the board...Miami will be stuck with nothing. They have Mike Miller but other then that....they have the big 3 an thats it. Big Z can barely make it up the floor anymore.

    NO MORRISON AT ALL!!!!!

  • In reply to folky15:

Let's not take MJ's sloppy seconds. No to Morrison unless he stays stapled to the bench. Matt Barnes please!
