World Wide Wes: "We're going to Chicago and Bosh is coming too"

Per Adrian Wojnarowski:

To listen to World Wide Wes, LeBron will never look back on
Cleveland. "He's up out of there," is the way he tells it to people, but
LeBron's Akron crew has to tsk-tsk such public talk because they all
live in Northeast Ohio, and maybe always will. "We're going to Chicago,"
William Wesley tells people, "and Chris

is coming, too."

Well that's certainly a good sign.   Not sure how seriously to take WWW, even if he has real influence, what he's telling people isn't necessarily accurate and could be a smoke screen.

This gets back to my point a week or two back.   If you view the information at hand at face value, LeBron to Chicago looks awfully good.  It could be an elaborate smoke screen, but there's really no point to that except to create more drama, and there's really not a need to create drama.

We'll see what happens, less than a week away.

We'll see what happens come July 8th.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

That is absolutely true, however, a person with a true name and reputation has no incentive to send false rumors in such an unequivocal way. After all, most of the Bulls fans listen to and respect Techn9 because he had announced several rumors that turned out to be true. At this point Lebron has nothing to bargain for - he'll get everything he can regardless - thus there is no benefit in smoke screens. So, unless Wojranowsky or WWW are stupid and make up stuff for no apparent reason than to create a momentary publicity - which may always be the case although is irrational and highly unlikely - the rumor has probably a lot of validity as of now. Of course, things may change between within a week but it appears most important had already taken place and it would be strange if any minor tweaking, should they occur, sway the decision if it has already made. Thus, I view it as a very positive sign, yet the only fact that matters is when someone signs - I could not help a cheap pun - the papers.

  • If they don't come to the Bulls they don't want to win. That's all their is to it. MGMT can't screw this up if they tried. It's the players decision. We will see what they are all about next Thursday.

Chicago is the best destination by far

  • First off, WWW has been in the news way too much. I dont think this means anything in terms of what Lebron will or wont do. And Im suprised he even said that knowing how it will be played in the media.

Though I do like the chances of us bringing in Lebron, I wonder what this does about our whole handshake deal with Joe Johnson. Do we go back on our word if this deal was real? Not the greatest sign if we do. Though I hope that whole thing was a lie and we only told JJ he would be in high consideration.

Doug, how do you think it would look if we promised to sign JJ first and this comes out and we go with Lebron and Bosh instead. It is the better deal but will it give us a bad league perception? Is the deal even real?

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

If they already committed to Joe Johnson which would then mean forgoing a scoring big(Bosh)to balance out the offense or Lebron that would be insane. No way they did this.

  • who gives a sh*t. It's business!

  • What's the world coming to when Mr Happy says talk is cheap? :-)

  • Yeah I hope we told JJ that he was high on the list and actually didn't sign anything with him. Not that he's a bad player, but he's not Max contract good. Especially with this amazing, never seen free agent class and us having room to offer 2 max contracts!
Lebron and Bosh come on over to Chi town and let's take the make another dynasty in Chicago!!! GO BULLS!!!!! :-)

  • One thing he says is correct. The Bulls don't just need LeBron. They need Bosh/a scoring big to win. Forgoing that opportunity for Joe Johnson would be insane. Right now were talking 1/16 or a little over $1 Million a piece between two stars joining up with Derrick Rose who is without doubt a budding superstar himself look at how he's played with no offensive stars, and what he'll be like with two of them. Are you f-ing kidding me? And Noah getting that critical weight/strength not to get budged off balance on the block by the big guys/centers. He overcomes that, and he becomes the second best center ahead of Bogut in the Eastern Conference. And he, like Derrick and other winners, feeds off of the energy of other great players. His game will only drastically improve as will Derrick and Taj's when these two studs offensive and all around energy are infused with this team. And a defensive mastermind in Thibs just brought in. You gotta be kidding me. Barring some perversion we're getting LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and multiple Dynasties with a capital D.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

are you freaking kidding about the bulls not just needing lebron? the bulls would be fantastic if by some miracle they only got lebron. i'd take that scenario in a heartbeat.

  • In reply to dubsdread18:

I totally agree. Yes, I prefer Bosh. I want Bosh. But getting grumpy because the Bulls will have only landed LeBron and Joe Johnson is hard to stomach.

Get LeBron. Get another guy he's happy with. Win games. Good enough for me.

  • In reply to muhammond:

Getting this close, and then not getting a scoring big but the 29 yr old playoff gnat Joe Johnson, and committing to him before you even take your best shot at the big you need and most championship teams possess? Jesus.

  • Wade Chalmers Beasley vs. Rose Noah Taj Deng. I'll take the ladder.

  • In reply to jgingeri:

I hope that you don't jump(off the ladder)

I assume that you meant latter.

  • Has there ever been a better argument for free agency than what the Bulls have?

1 -- Derrick Rose and Noah - Nuff said.

2 -- LOL at the Central Div - With Bosh and James, they would not only be the best team in the conference, but they would also decimate two teams in their division, making home court a virtual lock for years to come.

3 -- Jordan's shadow - It has made the Bulls a WORLDWIDE phenomenon. That is not true for the Knicks or Heat, and nothing LeBron does is really going to change that.

4 -- Franchise greatness - If LeBron comes to the Bulls their greatness could become a franchise thing vs. Jordan thing. For example, the Lakers are considered great because they are the Lakers. Of course it helped that they had Magic, Shaq, Kobe, Wilt, Jerrry, and Kareem along the way, but the franchise has just as much mystique as the players that play there. That's why the best want to be in L.A.

  • In reply to nucahx:

#4 - I was thinking the same thing. This is bigger than the next 5 years. Putting together another dynasty puts Chicago with Boston and LA. July 1st is a huge huge day for the Bulls franchise.

  • JULY 1st:

I'd be bringing in LJB and BOSH together. And not let them leave, until a deal is done.

That will make WADE think some things over. Like the MLE...haha.

  • Make that LBJ....oops.

  • This reminds me of a few years ago, Kobe shouting from the rooftops that he was coming to Chicago.

  • In reply to claytonabigsby:

Kobe was leveraging for better team mates by threatening in asking for a trade. Sure, Lebron could be trying to spark fear in Cleveland giving them incentive to get some trades done. The fact remains they don't have the necessary trade pieces.

  • In reply to jgingeri:

Kobe wasn't a free agent. And the Bulls didn't have nearly two max free agent slots.

  • In reply to muhammond:

Agreed, but I am leery about Lebron's friends(Chris Broussard, World Wide Wes, Jalen Rose). I will only believe them once Lebron's signs his contract with the Bulls ;)

  • In reply to muhammond:

Doug another question for ya, what if the bulls do trade Deng Johnson and a draft pick for Bosh sign Johnson like they supposedly have set up and sign Lebron, does that work? cap wise? Is that a possibility?

  • In reply to claytonabigsby:

    1. I am pretty sure these guys(WWW and the others in LeBron's group) are talking through the back channels. This news is leaking out to Adrain W..from Yahoo. Hopefully the momentum Bulls are building carries through July ..
    2. The Bulls have done everything they can until now and also have retained their best players in terms of ability/age i.e. Rose, Noah,Taj,Deng and JJ. They just have to finish the job. As everybody has said earlier, this is a very crucial moment in Chicago history. If these FAs come and win multiple championships....the Bulls are set forever like the Lakers have been. That will improve the local economy and make a lot of money for Reinsdorf in the long term.
    3. Worst case, we get Joe Johnson and David Lee. That's probably good enough to win 50 + games but second round/ECF exit written all over again.

  • In reply to claytonabigsby:

If LeBron was staying Cleveland do to loyalty to the Cavs franchise and the Cleveland fans that would be beyond mind blowing to me. But it would be very admirable, and mean he's a great guy. hard to believe though when all the fans come out for Lebron appreciation day, and he pulls up as they are leaving, everybody scrambles back in just in time to hear him utter a few words, and leave. But I still want him playing for the Bulls. I'm such a ho for winning.

  • In reply to claytonabigsby:

If it were true, why would it leak out? I hope that we didn't just create more roster space and cap room to chase someone else (likely the Cavs) again next year! Lots of teams are going to be left with this situation and it won't be fun either. This is scary putting so many eggs in this basket with the greatest possibility is that LBJ doesn't go anywhere.

  • That would suck if we had to honro it and it restricted us from bring in one of Bosh or Lebron. If we had to honor it, Bosh would be the better fit but I would want Lebron still. Tho I hope all these things are BS made up by pro JJ people.

  • in Miami they would be joining Wade. I don't think Lebron wants to be thought of as joining a superstar. Rose is right on the fringe or superstardom that it will be overlooked by the media.

  • Who are they going to have left for Wade, Bosh, Lebron, and their MLE to play with? You're telling me smart players who want to win wouldn't prefer the Bulls situation of Rose, Bosh, LeBron, burgeoning playoff stud center in Noah and a defensive stud in waiting in Gibson, possibly Deng on your bench! And the defensive NBA multiple finals coach in Thibs with a great veteran staff. And despite the South Beach party scene Chicago is also a great mega marketing and national marketing atmosphere. If Bosh and Lebron choose Miami over us they truly are not interested in the best chance for winning. And what if chronically injured Wade has more trouble at 29? Chicago is the only choice. Doug, I know you just don't want to set yourself up for heartbreak, but they are coming to Chicago if they want to win/have the time of their basketball lives. And this Joe Johnson rumor would mean they think LeBron and Johnson works which means they think Taj can become a force defensively and represent on offense which I will say could be very well true. But forgoing pairing Bosh/Amare with LeBron and D-Rose, no way.

  • Dude, you seriously don't think we have a better core with a young D-Rose, burgeoning stud in Noah, Taj is going to be an excellent rotation player at min., and Deng off the bench?? You're fooling yourself. Nobody wants to pair up with the serious headcase Michael Beasley. That's why he's probably being shipped out soon if they can get someone to take him. Bulls are getting LeBron and Bosh/Amare/Booer i.e a scoring big. Roll out the Dynasty re-runs with John Forsyth until we get to October(uh, actually let's not).

  • We can work out a sign and trade to give Bosh and Lebron the Max. I dont think its out of the question.

  • I already explained this if you want to win you're telling me 1/16 is going to keep you from winning? Give me a break. They each take one mil less $15 Mil and join up for multiple chamionships. I mean you are kidding me about the one million aren't you?

  • I'm not certain I totally believe that Johnson to the Bulls is set in stone, but if it were Doug's point about Bosh also being set in stone somewhere else is a sensible explanation.

Either that or Arn Tellum has Jerry by the short and curlies.

  • Forget WWW, Dr. Phil as chimed in on LBJ.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

New slogan for Chi-Town.... Come to Chicago, she can be a real slut! LMFAO! Stupid DR. Phil. He isn't even a real Doctor hes an electrician. LOL

Kirk Hinrich and others to Orlando for Vince Carter?

Another team that was involved in many crazy rumors on draft night was the Orlando Magic. While Magic fans were still drooling over a potential Chris Paul trade, it seems a more realistic deal to wrap their head around could be coming. Multiple sources say that the Magic have discussed a deal with the Washington Wizards that would swap Vince Carter for Kirk Hinrich, Randy Foye, and Al Thornton.

  • It's just funny that K.C. said all along Lawrence Frank and nobody wanted Lawrence Fricking Frank. And now he keeps saying Joe Johnson when eevrybody in their right mind would prefer a scroing big and Lebron. God, (K.C.)my own worst enemy.

And just for giggles what if the unfathomable happens according to Doug, and something unexpectedly good actually happens for us? What if Wade hears LeBron and Bosh are coming to the Bulls, and he gives Gar/Pax a phone call and says look.. I want in? ha, ha just had to throw that out there.

  • scoring

  • I believe Deng goes to Cleveland in a S&T for Lebron because I don't care what anyone says, the best player in the world isn't going to leave year 6 on the table. The challenge then, is to get Bosh without giving up Noah and then we still need a shooting guard somewhere.

  • In reply to Redwhitenblack:

If we did S&t for Lebron we could just sign Bosh outright. Then we still have money for another FA. That is highly unlikely though.

  • In reply to Redwhitenblack:

Remember that Lebron loves the Big Lights of NY and he needs make that wants/must have the ball in his hands. Ala Rose ala Wade - Lebron to NY - its ego

  • Although Deng is not an ideal fit next to James, he is still a very good player. Plus he has an indirect value of bringing, say, Joe Johnson in a sign-and-trade, a possibility that you yourself pointed out in your podcast.

As for Gibson, you are right: he is nor special, yet he is very solid and I do not believe that you can bring a similar player at the (veteran's) minimum.

  • In reply to robert:

Miami won more games because we had an clueless coach and major injuries to our team. If Noah and Rose dont miss the time that they did, the Bulls easily win as many if not more games than Miami.

  • In reply to Scoot26:

    No doubt.

lebron wants to meet with teams at a neutral site on july tour.

things are lining up nicely for the bulls. they are the team that has been focused on putting together a championship-caliber team, none of this other crap teams have been trying to put together.

  • Yeah but not like stuff like that hasnt been done before..Ben Gordon last year anyone? He had an agreement with the Pistons well before the July 1st date to start talking..The news articles announcing even the terms of the deal were out in the press well before July 1st.

  • They cannot keep Beasely and get Wade, Lebron and Bosh all at max deals.

I hope that Rielly keeps his word when he says that he is not trading Beasely solely for cap space.

Miami has always been the team that I fear, Wade, Rielly and South Beach and no state tax, hard to resist.

  • In reply to BigWay:

Riley's full of sh*t as usual. They already tried to unload Beasley for an expiring, but somebody else took him/Gomes.

  • Let us pray; that nobody wants to take Beasely.

I am sure that if Reilly is told that Lebron and Bosh have agreed to join Wade in Miami, he will find a way to dump Beasely, even if they have to pull a knicks job and pay someone draft picks and cash and Udonis Haslem and the Fountainbleau hotel and the Delano...

Beware Miami and Mr. Reilly, he still hates the Bulls and wants to beat them in everyway possible.

  • The Bulls had injuries galore so that head to head is bogus. As for Gibson being the type of player you can add easily you are seriously underestimating his defensive ability/value especially in line with his salary.

  • Alright Doug, who has the better group Chicago or Miami?? If you really think it's Miami then you are underestimating D-Rose and Noah. I can't believe you think Taj is the kind of player you can replace easily as an all-rookie who got no calls or support from Vinny which made his burgeoning offesnive game and shot/confidence wither. You are very much underestimating Taj as you did much of the year.

  • All i got to say is....

That right there could be the best team EVER assembled. Who would beat them?! They could win the next 7-8 titles...Kobe Bryant will be pissing his pants if this happened.

  • Chicago VS Maimi

Tom Thibodeau VS Erik Spolerstra...Chicago easy...The Bulls also could have the personal to have the best offense and defense in the league. Rose,Bron,Deng,Bosh,Noah better defensively then Rondo,Pierce,Allen,KG,Perkins. (We will see if Pat Riley is really "Loyal" or not...he might take the job from Spolerstra)

You come to Chicago and you can possibly become the Greatest Player of All Time with Bosh,Rose,Noah,Deng etc...OR you go to Maimi and have D Wade be 1 up on you in championship rings.

Bulls supporting Cast: Deng,Rose,Noah,Taj,James Johnson...Plus Max Free 2 possible 1st round draft picks next year

Heat supporting Cast: Chalmers,Beasley,Pittman,Varnado,Max Free Agent, Decent FA for about 8-9 mil i believe

Chicago is the place to go... plain an simple
