LeBetard backtracks on Bosh to Miami is done

Edit --- LeBetard apparently completely backtracked, said that "someone just told him this" and went from "reporting" to "it makes sense" on his radio show.

I still believe it's what's going to happen, but the done deal part, not so much yet.

Per Dan LeBetard's twitter:

# agree in principle...process plays out...pat riley got scorched on juwan howard but wade and bosh are just dealing with their agent     about 1 hour ago  via web

I hear bosh-miami is done ..bosh-wade shared agent avoids tampering...its why beasley, chalmers, anthony still here...raptors get them

There's no way this can be done with tampering rules avoided.

I do think that Toronto and Miami could work out the particulars of a S&T if Bosh were to agree to go to Miami though, and then they could have to try to meet with him to convince him to go.

Obviously not good for the Bulls if this turns out true.   LeBetard is a Miami guy with a radio show down there I believe.  I just know him as the guy who subs in on PTI and gets made fun of.

The Bulls now need to come to terms with someone as quickly as possible in an attempt try to keep LeBron or to move on to a backup plan if LeBron buys into the holy trinity in Miami.

  • Just bring on 12:01, I give credit to the Chicago writers though. We are the only ones that haven't started up these stupid rumors and made are self's look like donkeys at the end of the day. Lebetard can't stand the fact that the Bulls will get these guys, so he starts up a stupid rumor. Maybe Bosh really is going to the Heat, but Lebron isn't making less then him. James and JJ welcome to Chicago if this is true.

  • That's a rumor by a Miami heat fan.

Chris Bosh already said he wants to visit other teams before making a decision.

    FYI:

The Bulls have waived Rob Kurz and Chris Richard.

    http://realgm.net/src_wiretap_archives/67614/20100630/bulls_waive_kurz_richard_to_create_more_cap_space/

  • FYI #2:

It's been all over the Miami newspapers for weeks that Byran Colangelo, the GM of the Raptors, doesn't want Mike Beasley. I find Dan Lebatard's story to be accurate.

  • Not accurate...excuse me.

  • If Bosh wants to go to Miami, there is nothing Colangelo can do..Beasley on a rookie contract along with cap space is better than nothing...Maybe they are thinking the same way everyone thinks..
Since LeBron has not made up his mind, let's make it easy for him by getting Bosh and making Bosh lead us to LeBron

  • I have no doubt that Beasley, Chalmers and Anthony would be involved in a trade package for Chris Bosh, but I have my doubts that this deal is done.

I don't think Byran Colangelo wants Mike Beasley, thus he would let Bosh walk for nothing.

The better trade is with the Bulls.

  • All that being said, JOHN PAXSON and GAR FORMAN better STEP THE HELL UP by blocking any Bosh trade.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

How can you block a sign and trade? It's not an open market. The Raptors have to deal with the team of Bosh's choosing.

LeBatard is a dope, but I have no problem believing this. I'd put money on Bosh to Miami right now, even though I hold out some minute hope that we have a crack at him.

I don't, however, assume this means LeBron. The Bulls can still nab Boozer or Johnson, who would be excellent running mates for LeBron.

  • In reply to muhammond:

How do you block a S&T?

Offer the better package, which they can do for Bosh.

Bryan Colangelo would then tell Chris Bosh to either take the Bulls deal or walk and lose out on a MAX deal.

  • In reply to muhammond:

Yeah I hate to say it but I agree with you PJ. I believe Bosh will sign with Miami and it's not just a Basketball decision with him. Bosh wants that Miami lifestyle and he has been in Toronto for so long that he longs for the warm weather as well. The Bulls would be the best place for him basketball wise cause he would be playing with a point guard so they could run the pick and roll with and he would be at his natural position at power forward and would not have to play center cause Noah would help him form a huge front line. If he signs with Miami I guarantee he will be playing at the center position cause right now they have no one else and they are talking about resigning Haslem and he is not a center. Again it will not be a basketball decision with Bosh cause realistically the best team for him is the Bulls but I have taken him not to be too bright. Hopefully he will prove me wrong.

  • In reply to muhammond:

These guys must be getting troed from being traded so many times in a week. Another DONE DEAL...I still think anything could happen. Lebetard is funny but a total Miami homer that needs to fill his show something today. I doubt he knows anything.

  • In reply to muhammond:

^troed = tired, man I must be tired...

  • In reply to muhammond:

With all the media attention especially from Miami's "media"/ united PR machine it's no wonder all the talk and reports of success are centered on them. Too bad Chicago/we didn't seem to realize that perception amd media power do matter.

All I've heard for days on NBATV and ESPN is about Wade's clubhouse pact of a "Dream team" with Bosh and Lebron. And Riley "making it happen" by wonderously chopping his team's payroll to nothing. No clever response/angle and mouthpiece for the Bulls. Typical old-fashioned, fiddle around while Rome burns Chicago.

I wouldn't be ready to say that LeBron(and Bosh) are lost, but now I'm hearing from New York's reporter Dan Isola that one of the super free agents told him LeBron asked if he would be willing to take less money to be on his "Dream Team" with Wade, and that his "people" were making it happen.

If this is true, and LeBron thinks D-Rose can not be an absolute superstar at 21 yrs old with Taj and Joakim and he's sold on the invincibility of the soon 29 yr old oft disabled Wade with softy no winning impact Bosh and a literal cast of nobodies, that that's what is going to win the most titles/way to go, then so be it.

I think without question if Lebron was smart and a true winning giant like Jordan, he'd understand that a team needs a leader, and complimentary components. Guys who fill roles with composure and fortitude. As Cleveland showed us, you can't just plug any guys into that role. Mo Williams? Ha, f-ing ha. Varejao? He's a whining, prancing clown.

Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah along with Gibson have the fortitude of champions. He'd have such a dedicated quality TEAM to play with, a second scoring stud joining him with a genius defensive coach who relates very well with players. Instead he's going with three and men and a whole lot of babies. Good luck if so.

Again, it just pisses me off that the Bulls didn't respond to this media onslaught of Dwyane's Dream Team pact or Riley's amazing payroll cutting Freddie Kruger style slashing. Some angle and appealing mouthpiece to get some momentum and selling of our own, this is somewhat of a sales job like it or not, and we have just done nothing. God, it's pathetic. I have to respect that our media are not complete whores/pitchmen like Miami's with Windbagman and LeTurd, but still god couldn't they do better then this. I guess they needed a stick though from the Bulls to run with. Too bad the media "friendly" Marty Feldman look alike bug eyes Gar Forman and High Anxiety/guilty/emtionally distarught face(at his last apology/news conference) Paxson couldn't come up with anything to combat Riley's predicted intense aggressive campaign. I'm sorry to take cheap shots at gar and Pax but letting this sales job go on with such media legs, and not creating a counter angle/message and mouthpiece is hust a failure of savvy. This in part in a mega media age, this aspect that's failed to be addressed or recognized by these two does matter. And it may have just cost us LeBron James.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

    Road Warrior,

Why does media matter? I doubt Lebron is watching tv and listening to everyone's thoughts on this situation and forming his opinion based on it. The Bulls are smart to stay out of the media and put out false rumors to draw attention. This strengthens their pitch and shows they are all about business...WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS. They have much to sell Lebron on w/o needed the media involved...our pitch is still strong.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

our pitch is VERY strong. And a lot of the media besides Miami journalists still say the best destination is Chicago by far. Rose and Noah are winners and everyone knows it. We will be just fine no matter what happens.

  • In reply to Dileg:

Our pitch will only have to be, play with the two of the best players for their age at their position. Lebron knows, Rose and Noah are winners. I'm sure Calipari had nothing but great things to say about coaching Rose. Out of all this bs talk that has been going on, WWW has much more power then people really think. Tibs took this Bulls job for a reason, he isn't the over powering personality of a coach that Riley,Johnson and D'toni are. LeBron wants a legacy with an unknown coach, if he wins with Riley. Riley/Wade take that credit.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    nucahx-

Stephan Marbury led the league in a lot of catagories too...

  • In reply to Dmband:

Touche!, but Steph was a point guard who had the ball all of the time, hard to do the same about of ball hogging as a PF

  • In reply to Dmband:

Wade talking about free agency. I don't think we have to worry about Lebron and Wade playing for the same team. There are a lot of MEs being tossed around between Lebron and Wade. I don't see any WEs. I think this could be the spawn of a very heated rivalry.

"It's going to be fit with me first," Wade said. "I've made that very clear. Do I want to leave? Nope. Mmm-hmm. I want to be in Miami. That's where it starts."

    Wade
While he has said he will talk to other players and got the NBA world buzzing with his concept of a "free-agent summit" he said, "I don't do recruiting. Not now, anyway."

"I don't look at it as recruiting. I'll gauge and see if guys want to be [in Miami], who wants to be with me.

"It's about who can come to Miami, it's about who do you trust, who can fit the organization, who best fits you as a player, things of that nature."

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    Lebetard is retracting his tweet

  • In reply to Dmband:

He had to start this rumor, even Kornheiser the biggest Chicago hater in the media, picked Lebron to come to Chicago.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

Boozer has a better shot than Bosh, would work perfectly with Rose or James. I'll take it. Noah will handle the rebounding and defense down low.

  • In reply to Dileg:

Plus we can get Boozer for less, keep Taj, and get a 3 pt. shooter.

  • In reply to Dileg:

Plus we can get Boozer for less, keep Taj, and get a 3-pt. shooter.

  • In reply to Dileg:

    nucahx-

Did you refer to Bosh as a Beast? really?

  • In reply to Dmband:

Dude did you see the categories where he ranks at or near the top in the NBA. He has spent most of his career out of position, on a team without any premier talent around him.

  • In reply to nucahx:

Please stop being a weak Bosh apologist. The guy has had decent talent (Calderon, Turkoglu, Bargani, TJ Ford), not great at all, but has MISSED the playoffs most years and HAS NEVER GOT OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND. In a time when the eastern conference was rather weak.

LeBron with a bunch of stiffs and role players GOT TO THE FINALS. LeBron has NEVER lost in the first round. That just shows you how much better LeBron is than Bosh. There is a bigger gap between LeBron and Bosh than there is between Bosh and Boozer/Amare/Lee, BY FAR.

I am not at all surprised Bosh is going to Miami. It gives him the absolute most possible money (due to S&T and no state income tax), it's warm weather, a party lifestyle. That is what Bosh is about. That should tell you all you need to know about Bosh's future as a "winner" or not.

As long as the Bulls get LeBron, they will be the best team in the East for the next decade. Book it. I couldn't care less the Bulls won't get Bosh; just as long as it doesn't stop The King from coming.

Who is the Bulls 2nd Max target now? I would LOVE to see them make a huge run at DIRK NOWITSKI. No one talks about him, but IMO he is BETTER than Bosh, Boozer, Amare, etc. And would be an awesome fit next to Bron and Noah, who cover his defensive weaknesses and he stretches the floor.

As for JJ, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo reports the Hawks will give the FULL 6-year max to him. He's (almost surely) staying:

    http://twitter.com/wojyahoonba

Bulls better find that 2nd target to pair up with LeBron quick because the options are dwindling...

  • In reply to ace991:

I am not an apologist, I just think that your argument is flawed. I asked the question before and I ask it again... List a PF who has taken his team to the playoffs with a supporting cast as bad as Bosh's. And do not point at 2008 Turkoglu because the version in Toronto wasn't even close....

  • In reply to nucahx:

    Just to the playoffs? Really?

Gasol while in Memphis, Brand in LA, Garnett in Minnesota come to mind - in the last few years.

  • In reply to ace991:

Also let's be honest, the Raptors WOULD have made the playoffs last year, possibly killing all of the CHI FA hopes had Bosh not gotten hurt in a freak accident at the end of the season.

  • In reply to nucahx:

Freak accident? Ginobli had the same injury and didn't miss a single minute of playing time.

Bosh could have played. But instead, he'd rather send you tweets.

    He's a loser.

  • In reply to nucahx:

Bosh wears a bulky knee brace because he knows his knee is prone to injury. Anyone who signs Bosh does so with the understanding that his right knee may never be 100%.

  • In reply to Dmband:

    THIS JUST IN:

    Chris Bosh speaks about Free-agency.

    http://www.whosay.com/ChrisBosh/content/1430?code=xEG2KO

    FYI:

Toronto and Miami has both shot-down S&T rumors.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

This must have been a while back, he no longer has dreads. There is no way Toronto and Miami would admit they already have a deal in place(even if it is true), would they? I am sure they will deny until it is a "done deal".

  • In reply to Dmband:

    have both...oops.

  • In reply to Dileg:

Boozer has a better shot than Bosh??? What are you people smoking??? Bosh is the big name FA for a reason people...apparently everyone who watches the NBA knows what you don't that Bosh is great!! The only trump that Boozer has over Bosh is rebounding. Bosh is more skilled and younger...get a clue people!

Next, if we strike out on Lebron you will be saying that you never really like him and Joe Johnson was the best player all along...gimme a break. We should still attempt to get Bosh and Lebron. So they could make believers outa you people if anything else...

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Bosh is a much better player than Boozer no doubt. In a pick and pop scenario, I think Boozer has a better outside jumper.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

To keep our minds from going insane, lets have a little relax session as we wait for free agency to begin. Summer League starts and the rosters are set. Bulls have a team of shooters on their squad such as Derrick Byars, Matt Bouldin, and Ex-Jazz player Morris Almond. It's a possibility that on or two of these players will be wearing a Bulls

  • In reply to Everitt:

Great!! I say some footage of Bouldin's game...I was suprised he wasn't drafted!! We got him as a steal I think.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUt6aV4mpec

  • In reply to Everitt:

Is that true about Byars and Almond?

  • In reply to MrHappy:

This is Byars in 06-07 college season. He seems like a decent talent.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ4R-U65xcM

  • In reply to mdot1986:

They should have kept Byars last year, but I don't have time to debate that again.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Oh no. Mr Happy has a fellow Byars lover. Here we go.

  • In reply to KenyattaWright:

Don't love the guy. Just said he was decent talent.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Doug im not going to read all of these posts, but im from Miami and I listen to Le Batard's show everyday. They were screwing around on twitter, they were laughing on air trying to think of what absurd posts they could put up next. TSN in Canada even put some of his stuff up on their front page and they were laughing hysterically about the whole thing.

  • In reply to renep23:

Le Batard said if he actually had any real breaking news he would do it through the Miami Herald, his newspaper, not the twitter

  • In reply to renep23:

I want to call this guy LeBastard for doing this. He has streed out the NBA world...

  • In reply to MrHappy:

time appears to be all that you have.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

I meant to say one or two...

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    +2...thats what im saying.

Bosh can go to the Heat. The Bulls just need to land LeBron and 1 of Amare,Booz,Lee.

  • In reply to Dileg:

This is all so much bull. But I still will guess Bosh will go to Heat.
I wouldn't mind if Boozer is a consolation prize instead of Bosh and we also get LeBron for max money. If we can get Boozer for less than a max deal...we can fill up other spots with the extra money...maybe Ray Allen or Kyle Korver or Anthony Morrow ...somebody like that... That would be a better and deeper team...

  • In reply to schaumburgfan:

Now this I can diggg!! Or even get David Lee and Mike would suffice with Lebron.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

    via the Sun Sentinel:

Raptors General Manager Bryan Colangelo has expressed little previous interest in Beasley and is currently declining comment on free-agency matters.

He did tell a Toronto radio station, "I've been saying all along, anybody that says they know what's happening is nonsense. There is all sorts of different things you could talk about, different pictures you could paint."

To Bosh, the process remains a whirlwind. He offered on his Twitter account, "After all these years. Just 24 hrs left. Wow. I'm getting anxious."

He followed by offering on his Twitter account, "It funny how years come down to hours and minutes."

    * So, even they acknowledge that BRYAN COLANGELO has no interest in Michael Beasley.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

I can see Bosh in Maimi...but this doesnt mean LeBron is going there too. ESPN just reported that Wade and LBJ have both talked to Carlos Boozer and Joe Johnson.

    Bulls roster of- Rose,Bron,Deng,Booz/Amare,Noah

    Still Better then- Chalmers,Wade,Beasley,Bosh, FA?

PLUS...if the Bulls really do want Bosh. We could always just send them Noah. An we beat Miami's deal out of the water.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

Apparently Bosh has no injury history to speak of. I haven't heard anything. Can anyone explain this to me?

That's a pretty big knee brace. Didn't wear it in college. Any explanation?

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

    via Steve Kyler:

Let's be clear - it is a violation of league rules for this deal to already be in place, or for it to even have been discussed. Bosh is a free agent, and can't negotiate anything with anyone until midnight Eastern tonight. The HEAT, for their part, can't have any kind of discussion about any free agent until that time. The Raptors can't even field offers for a proposed sign-and-trade. The most recent rumor has the HEAT sending Joel Anthony and Mario Chalmers to Toronto, but Joel Anthony is a restricted free agent, so that conversation can't have taken place, either.

Having said that, it's naive to believe Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo hasn't had some "hypothetical" conversations with teams around the league. It's hard to believe the best offer out there is Michael Beasley, and you can bet the Raptors will try to find a better deal between now and July 8th, which is the earliest possible time for a sign-and-trade to happen with Bosh.

Don't start buying your "Bosh" jerseys just yet, HEAT fans.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

I desperately want to believe you but everything is beginning to look like the 3 may be heading to Miami.

  • In reply to claytonabigsby:

Don't be so fickle people...Lebron will not go to Miami!

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

So I tried to post a comment with links to a few pictures, but it's being "held by the administrator." My comment referred to the massive knee brace that Chris Bosh wears on his right knee. Supposedly, he has no injury history. What's the deal? I searched for pictures at Georgia Tech, and lo and behold, no knee brace. Anyone have any information?

I've found: "The question that must be asked

Is it possible that Bosh's injury might make other suitors think twice because of the durability factor? Or put another way

  • In reply to jt563905:

Ahhh, so he's sprained his right knee multiple times.

  • In reply to jt563905:

Was just at lunch, and the TV had ESPN on. The "Breaking News" crawl at the bottom was a quote from Bosh saying that he did not think there would be a "Dream Team" in Miami (i.e., not him, LeBron, and Wade). I believe the exact quote was "It all seems pie in the sky...I don't see a way of it happening".

Which is interesting, I guess. At least it implies that LeBron is still up for grabs even if Bosh goes to Miami.

  • In reply to Duke:

This may well be a smokescreen from Bosh. I don't expect him to say, yes all the rumors you heard are true. He would be accused of tampering.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

If you're a fan without any access to inside information, yes the Heat is doing a good job. But if you're a basketball star and teams, agents and other players telling you what the real score is, plus the fact you see the teams up close in your workplace, I doubt if it will have an effect in your decision.

  • In reply to MarkNorman:

"Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah along with Gibson have the fortitude of champions."

Dude, Chicago has reported multiple stories that LeBron was a done deal, so please, get real. Every city in the mix has reported LeBron a liklihood, with NY recently backing off the claim. But the fortitude of champions that have won nothing are somehow more accomplished than Wade who has. Really? At this very moment he is being woo'd in the United Center while you drivel nonsense.

  • In reply to muhammond:

Is there anyway to get facts instead of rumors?? Well so much for believing bosh and his agent saying he just wants to win. dont think he is worth a max deal anyway!

  • In reply to MrHappy:

    GIBSON vs. BEASLEY:

Gibson has better CHARACTER off the court and is a better rebounder and defender on the court.

Beasley has a CHECKERED PAST off the court and is very inconsistent on the court.

    DOUBLE-DOUBLES:

    Gibson - 18
    Beasley - 10

    ADVANTAGE BULLS!!!

  • In reply to MrHappy:

If Bosh comes here it will be because he wants to, not because Gibson is a better asset than Beasley.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Are you saying Gibson is a better player than Beasley? That is laughable! Stop the madness.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

puff puff pass, my brother...what world are you living in. Beasley is a 20/10 player with unlimited upside. Gibson, please.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Since we all know that Lebron won't do anything without checking with Bosh first.

  • I've believed that Bosh to Miami has been a done deal for a year or two at least in Bosh's mind.

  • In one sense, I welcome Bosh to Miami, because I say it means Lebron is not going there.

Bosh has said that he won't play center, Miami would have to assure him that they will acquire one, which will cost them the needed cap space to get Lebron. Brendan Haywood, who wants to return to the eastern conference would require at least as much as Beasely makes as would any servicable center.

Maybe in Miami, Bosh equals bye bye Lebron, just like Mr Happy said(not).

  • Am I the only one who thinks Bosh isnt THAT good?

He's never won anything. Ever. Ever other major FA in these discussions has AT least led thier respective teams to at least one playoff appearance.

  • In reply to Dmband:

I agree. Not a big fan of Bosh. He may have more individual talent than most, but doesn't fit into a team concept.

I'd hate to see him being paid close to $20 mil two years from now, and not starting because he can't beat out Taj.

If Bosh and Taj played one on one, Bosh wins every time. But if I'm putting together a team? I'd prefer Taj.

  • In reply to Dmband:

Understanding we don't know what the exact numbers are yet, what are the salary cap implications of the Bulls waiving Richard and Kurz? I can't imagine those guys made beans in the relative scheme of things. This development must mean we're very close to landing two big time players. Otherwise, why would pinching the pennies to this degree happen? We already have plenty to sign one max guy. This probably means we can expect two.

  • In reply to Dmband:

Yeah I know nothing has officially happened but the way these reports have been going around lately, I'm dreading that bulls are going to get shut out, when this out time I had envisioned them getting something. I think Bosh is lost to Miami, and Wade's uninformed slanders have hurt the bulls reputation.

  • In reply to Dmband:

    nucahx-

my point was he hasnt even led the team to one playoff appearance. I understand you cant win a championship with simply one player, but in the NBA, to not even make the playoffs? Once? Come on.

Thats alarming, when we're talking about paying max money, for max years....my opinion.

  • In reply to Dmband:

The Raps went to the playoff in '06 and '07 with Bosh. Doesn't that count???

  • In reply to Dmband:

Please know what your talking about before you post. There's a reason he is in the conversation by EVERY news outlet in sports along with Lebron and D Wade. Geez

  • In reply to Dmband:

    Doug-

Can someone (Doug) send out a tweet saying that Lebron to Chicago is a done deal and scottie pippen is coming out of retirement to be his wingman.

  • In reply to nucahx:

Why do you lie and put up false numbers to try and prove Bosh is better than he is?

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

These fake stats are not neccessary to show that Bosh IS worth the max. He's is the 2nd best Pf in the the league...please don't be naive.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Don't be an idiot ... nobody said he wasn't.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

Bulls need to go after Boozer,Amare or Lee. Get one of those guys with LeBron and then sign a solid cheap 3pt shooter!!!!!

Lebron is the main attraction...Bosh is just a little bit better then Booz,Amare and Lee. LeBron is still out there! Go get him Bulls!!!!

  • In reply to Dmband:

He is... simply put... A BEAST!

  • In reply to Dmband:

I think we're gonna end up with LeBron & Boozer, with Boozer taking a little less than the max to come here. Carlos Boozer already said he wanted to get traded to Chicago last summer and unlike some other guys (Lebron & Bosh), i haven't heard him talk about going elsewhere since then...just my prediction.

He's talked about going to Miami... a lot.

  • In reply to KenyattaWright:

Oh yeah! i kinda forgot about that...

  • I hate the hasn't won anything argument. For centers, even the great ones, to win something they always need a good/great perimeter player on their team to win. These players must be fed the ball, if they are not properly fed there is not a lot they can do. Name one PF or CENTER who won without some All-Star or near All-Star talent around them...

  • In reply to nucahx:

    Olajuwon.
    Chamberlain.
    Duncan.

  • In reply to KenyattaWright:

Olajuwon had Drexler for the second one. The first one had Otis Thorpe and Vernon Maxwell putting up some of their best years. Duncan had David Robinson for that first one. Parker and Ginobli for the other ones. Bosh isn't even on par with these big men though.

  • In reply to gibby6385:

Bosh is the 2nd best PF in the league behind Gasol. Nuff said.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

No, he's not. Not nuff said.

  • In reply to KenyattaWright:

The numbers nucahx posted aren't even close to being accurate.
I don't know why people feel the need to lie to support their flawed opinions.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

    Here's a link...

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/chris_bosh/career_stats.html

  • In reply to nucahx:

Ok, the stats are wrong but it is not my fault, NBA.com is faulty... my bad....

  • In reply to nucahx:

Ok ... well at least you got them from someplace
That's better than making them up ...
I can't believe that NBA.com has those numbers so messed up.

  • In reply to nucahx:

Yes it is your fault, because you are an idiot who thought Bosh was leading the league in like 10 freaking categories.

You don't know basketball if you think Bosh is even close to as good as Gasol, Nowitski, Garnett, Malone, Duncan, Webber, any of the truly great PFs when they were in their prime. He will never be more than the THIRD best player on a championship team (if that) or he'll put up numbers on a LOSING team - so he's basically another Michael Redd, Starbury, Sharif Abul Raheem, Glenn Robinson, etc.

You don't even know your stats at all. Please join a high school JV team, learn one iota about the game, and while you're at it take a class in "cross referencing sources" when you do research.

I GUARANTEE you that if the Bulls get LeBron + (any other decent FA) and the Heat get Wade+Bosh+(someone, say Boozer, JJohnson, etc.) the Bulls will get farther in the playoffs than the Heat EVERY YEAR for the next decade.

And I'll happily come back here if I'm wrong. And if I'm right you can admit your Bosh loving was way off base.

  • In reply to ace991:

I agree with you. That's b/c of Lebron a.k.a the best athlete in the NBA! I still hold out that Bosh is the 2nd best PF in the league today. But of course he's not in the top 5 or 6 PFs all-time!

  • In reply to nucahx:

    Justin,

The Bulls' management needs to get a S&T done with Toronto for Chris Bosh.

It just opens the door for so much more for this team.

    - Taj Gibson
    - Omer Asik (signed and then traded)
    - Charlotte's #1 Pick
    - Chicago's #1 Pick

That is comparable to what Miami is offering up. Gibson is the better ALL-AROUND player and person compared to Beasley.

As far as Johnson goes, I still wouldn't mind seeing him go to Memphis for Sam Young.

That would make me very happy.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

So Happy, you think the Bulls need to go after Bosh? Do you have any idea how many times you have posted this exact statement these past couple weeks? I like your enthusiam but you seriously need some new material.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

Please tell me who is a better PF than Bosh besides Gasol?

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    Nowitzki

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

    Nowitzki: 25ppg 7.7rb 2.7ast

    Bosh: 24ppg 10.8rb 2.4ast

    NO HE'S NOT...NEXT!!!

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Bosh does everything Nowitzki does except shoot the three. Bosh gets more rebounds and can hit the big shot as well.

    So...next...

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Bosh gets more rebounds because he plays next to Bargnani, dip shit.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    Yes, he is.
    Next.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

    Prove it!

  • In reply to mdot1986:

You PROVE it, you f'ing moron ... you're the one throwing out unprovable comments and making ridiculous statements. If you want a REAL conversation comparing the two, who obviously are way to close to ever determine which one is "better", then start acting like something more than a 12 year old brat.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

See now your backtracking...you have an opinion that you know doesn't hold water! Earlier you said that Nucahx gave stats to prove his "flawed" opinion but you can't actually prove that Nowitzki is better and so now you call me a 12 year old brat(as if name calling is so mature).

There is a reason that Nowitzki was on one of the few teams in the NBA's history to go into the playoffs a #1 seed and lose to a #8 seed...he has no heart!! That is also why his team was stacked this year and they still lost to a 7 seed.

If those pieces were put around Bosh he would succeed. Get a clue he never had any talent around him. But he get rebounds(hustle), scores about as many points as Nowitzki and yet he doesn't shoot the three. So YOUR argument/opinion is flawed. Not mine.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    You truly are an Idiot.
    Next.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

Takes one guy...make a valid statement and then we can talk.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

You've yet to make a "Valid" statement.
    Why should I?

  • In reply to mdot1986:

hold on hold on...Bulls havent even got to talk to LeBron yet. Just chill until we actually find something out. Lebron staying is cleveland would be stupid imo.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

And serously...we dont even know if Bosh to Miami is a sure thing.

  • In reply to Csharp:

I know.. but I'm just preparing for the worst. Ending up with Carlos Boozer and nothing else would be pretty tough to swallow at this point. And there's a chance we wouldn't even get him.. can you imagine the depression?

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER:

If Miami is trying to give up Beasley ($4) and Chalmers ($1), then why can't the Bulls give up Johnson ($2), Gibson ($1) and Asik ($1)?

They money is pretty much the same? K.C. Johnson get with it.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

I guess KC feels like Toronto wouldn't be interested in Johnson or Asik.. and is Asik's contract even being charged to the cap? I'm not sure how that works. Gibson is cheap production, so I would think they would at least be slightly interested in him.. especially if we threw in a 1st rounder or two.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Just reported.. Toronto doesn't want Deng, and Joe Johnson doesn't find NYK or Chicago that appealing.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Aq0S5xhvd1_MeGkP6R6AI2y8vLYF?slug=ys-freeagentbuzz063010

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Looks like Joe Johnson will stay in Atlanta

    http://blogs.ajc.com/hawks/2010/06/30/atlanta-hawks-all-in-with-max-offer-for-joe-johnson/

Is he worth it? Nope. Should he sign it? Hell Yeah!

  • In reply to claytonabigsby:

It appears the Bulls options are dwindling rather quickly.. if some of these rumors are true. If it turns out that JJ stays with ATL, Lebron with CLE, Wade with MIA, Bosh to MIA.. we're left with Boozer, Lee or Amare. Ugh. Not the summer I envisioned.

  • In reply to claytonabigsby:

    Just say NO TO JOE!!!

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Seriously, do you even know why you're arguing this point?

It's my opinion ... for several months now ... that Bosh is by far the best option for the Bulls. Combine him with Wade (my preference, but not going to happen), Lebron, or even Johnson and I think we have a great team.

I pointed out that Nucahx's "opinions" that Bosh was the best rebounder and scorer in the league were flawed. Which they were ... and it turns out it wasn't his fault, but was from NBA.com's faulty stats.

You're the one coming into the conversation throwing around challenges (tell me who is better) and assumption (Bosh is the 2nd best PF in the league).

Bosh could very well be the best PF in the league ... but the try and decide between Gasol, Bosh, and Nowitzki is pretty pointless. Each one plays a little differently than the others, and each one is very very good at what he does.

So you can stop assuming that I'm somehow opposed to Bosh coming to the Bulls, or that I don't recognize his talent and abilities.

You internet message board warriors are the most ridiculous folks around.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

100% right. Nowitski would be an awesome addition to the Bulls with LeBron. In fact, I think he's a much better frontcourt complement to Noah and LeBron, as they will cover for Dirk's defensive liabilities and he'll stretch the floor and kill team that try to pack the paint. Thibidou SPECIFICALLY said the teams needs better 3pt shooting; further Dirk rebounds almost as well as Bosh and he is much more DURABLE (look at how many games Bosh misses every year).

#1BullsFan you are an idiot if your defense of Bosh is that his team sucked just because his supporting cast was weak. No one is saying the Raptors should have made the Finals. But how about MAKING the playoffs even half your career? In the Eastern Conference that means a .500 team. Pathetic.

And if you think Bosh on the 2006 Mavericks could have knocked out the defending champion Spurs by dropping 37pts, 15reb in game 7 (which DIRK did) you are an even bigger idiot.

Don't hold it against Dirk that he had good teams in Dallas. He still performed damn well. He's not a true #1 on a championship team but he'd sure as hell be a GREAT #2 man.

If Dirk comes the Bulls with LeBron I GUARANTEE multiple championships in the next 4 years and you'll be cheering them on all the same, despite you idiotic hating of Dirk.

  • In reply to ace991:

And if Bosh comes with Lebron we wont win just as many championships?? Please.

Dirk has always had an all-star PG...scratch that HALL OF FAMER PGs! He's a great talent but he is not better than Bosh. Lebron would be the reason we won not Nowitzki or Bosh.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Bosh has no heart. That's why he thinks he's worth a max contract.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    BREAKING NEWS!

Bulls planning on meeting with Wade tomorrow. I can really see LeBron staying in Cleveland. Bosh in a S&T to LA. And I got Wade coming to Chicago along w/ Boozer/Lee/Stoudamire.

    http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/bulls/

  • In reply to Vedo:

Sorry Vedo...I right there typing with you.

  • In reply to Vedo:

With all the talk of spies this week seems like we have one in the NBA. Hopefully we don't play all of our cards to Wade and he relays what our plans are to his master.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    THIS JUST IN:

The Bulls' management is setting up a meeting with Wade not Johnson.

    http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/06/bulls-plan-to-sit-down-with-wade.html

    GREAT DECISION...go get the man!!!

  • In reply to MrHappy:

I'm not sure I believe he's very serious about signing with the Bulls.
This may be just as much an entertainment for him at this point. Just to have fun shopping around.
Or, if he's as serious about getting FA's to Miami as many seem to think he is, this is a great chance to hear the recruiting points that are being used by teams like the Bulls and Knicks. Would make things a bit easier for Pat Riley if he knew what he was up against.

But if in the end, Wade ever came to Chicago (I think it's a good chance Bosh or Boozer would come then as well), I'd be very happy.
He's the only one of these guys who's actually won a championship and that means a lot in my opinion.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

I'm pretty sure the Bulls will handle it just fine it because they are aware of what Wade said when he questioned our loyalty. He also may be doing this to force Riley to make a deal and get him his Free Agents. This could all mean that Bosh and Bron to Miami is nothing but a pipedream and Wade is covering his ass. It should be interesting!

  • In reply to Vedo:

Vedo, I've been saying this for two days. Wade is covering his a$$ and doesn't want to be left on a bad team. Don't be surprised if The Bulls is his plan B if LeBron stays home...

  • In reply to MrHappy:

    THIS JUST IN:

Wade and Bosh will conduct team (FA) meetings in Chicago on Friday.

    http://realgm.net/src_wiretap_archives/67635/20100630/wade_bosh_will_meet_with_teams_friday_in_chicago/

  • In reply to MrHappy:

This sounds like two guys who are looking at options that will keep them of of bad teams. While Miami's attempt at a trifects would have been intriguing, a roster of Rose, Wade, Bosh, Noah and Deng would be championship worthy. And there would be no way either of them would be able to put a team on the court like that. So this tells me that Lebron is coming to Chicago or staying home. Bosh is out of Toronto, but will only go to Chicago if Wade or Lebron comes. Wade is looking at Chicago very hard now because Bosh will not take less money to play in Miami and LeBron is concerned with that roster. In the end we are looking at Bosh and Wade or LeBron and Wade in Chicago... Any thoughts?

  • In reply to AlgernonHPenn:

I just can't see the Miami thing and the numbers don't support it. I truly believe LeBron's coming to Chicago. Print it!!!

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Who knows ... maybe in all of the meetings and/or conversations between Wade, Lebron, and Bosh(that may or may not have happened) ... Maybe Lebron already indicated to the other two that he's gonna go back to Cleveland.
Maybe the other two realize that with them on board, the Bulls would be a great chance for championships. Maybe tomorrow they will both announce they'll be coming to the Bulls ... Isn't it GREAT to speculate!?!?!

Rose, Wade, Deng, Bosh, Noah ... I like it.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

LOL let the speculation continue. That would be amazing though! We will just have to wait and see what happens.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

BREAKING NEWS, NBA has decided to postpone start of free agency to July 8th ;)

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Lee,Booz,Amare,Bosh all are about the same. Of course BBosh is a little better then the rest. But landing a guy like Boozer or Lee will allow you to sign other players for the team. Peferrably a 3pt shooter.

  • In reply to Csharp:

I think Bosh is a slight notch above all those guys for sure.. and I really want to see him in a Bulls uniform. But I would be happy with Lebron and any of those guys.. Amare scares me the most, honestly, with his injuries (knee). I'd have a hard time choosing between Lee and Boozer, mainly because of Boozer's injury problems as well.

I do think Lee's stats have been juiced a bit by D'Antoni's system in NYK. But I have seen him play enough to think that he's a good, solid player.

I really like Mike Miller @ the 2 spot. If we trade Luol and get Miller (or someone similar), one of the PF's, and Lebron.. we would be hard to beat in my opinion.

  • In reply to Silverwulf:

    ANSWER ME THIS:

Why does K.C. Johnson keep saying that the Bulls can't get a S&T done with Toronto, because Luol Deng would need to be included?

I don't think Luol Deng needs to be included K.C....WAKE UP!!!

He is just being STUPID AGAIN.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

Bosh blows and so do you. He's a drag queen in high tops, so I guess I can understand your huge crush.

Anyhoo... why don't you backup your claim as the #1 Bulls fan? Where are your numbers for that?

  • In reply to KenyattaWright:

Huh, what does that mean? Prove you are Kenyalla Wright! Really??? You're becoming a joke.

Fans mix their dislike for a person and the actual game of that person a lot it seems. Anytime name calling comes into the equation it just weakens your argument to a point. It tells me your argument isn't as much from a logical point of view as it is an emotional one. I don't have a crush on Bosh. However, I can logically see how he fits well on this team esp beside lebron. He is also young. I like David Lee as well. I can guarantee tho that 10 times out of 10 my decision is less based on emotion and more based on facts.

  • In reply to mdot1986:

    RealGM:

    http://twitter.com/CR_Reina/status/17438278837

I doubt the Bulls give up Noah. Lee is a UFA, so forget that. Gibson and Asik plus picks I think are do-able.

I agree that Beasley isn't wanted by Toronto.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

What about Bosh's injury history as opposed to Lee's...does Lee seem like a cheaper, healthier choice (not more skilled).

  • Whatever. Give me Amare/Boozer and Lebron. That team will easily be better than the Heat.

  • Doug, I think you need to post a DONE DEAL article coming out of Chicago to counter the NY and MIA rumor mill. Maybe a LeBron Bosh JJ trifecta :-)
