  • I feel less optimistic about Lebron by the day. Too many rumors and alot of which seem unrealistic.

I think we should focus on getting better. Post player and shooters.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

Bulls still have a great shot at landing him....Theres no rumors about him going anyway really right now. He called Rose, the guy is deff. interested.

  • In reply to Csharp:

But thats it, theyre jus rumors. Nothing says thst they have any legitimacy.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

Great Podcast so far Doug....pretty much agreeing with everything your saying right now.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

Maybe the Bulls are planning to get Doc Rivers when his contract is up next year, and they want to get a placeholder for the intervening year (could Gar coach himself?), but they think that announcing the name of the loser will hurt them with free agents, so they prefer to wait until after July 1 when they can explain the situation to the free agents clearly.

  • Yes, that's probably the case. I guess maybe the interpersonal conflict between VDN and other people in the organization had gotten to the point where it was intolerable. Or the organization felt that TBA would make less of a bad impression on free agents than Del Negro would.

  • Im not saying that isnt the case, but I think the rumors have left me a little confused on how many they are and how logical they sound. And personally, I think Lebron is shallow enough to think he can make more money in NY or LA without championships. Also, you could make the Jordan shadow argument. Even though I know and every Bulls fan knows its bunk, Lebron may see it differently. Just as Dwade see's the loyalty thing. That was pretty bad for us since Wade's comments got all the coverage but our responses got none.

  • Doug did you see reports on ESPN of Hedo Turkoglu saying he wanted to be traded from the Raptors? Assuming they can find a sucker to take his contract and the player(s) they get back isn't a starting caliber small forward, couldn't this make an S&T for Bosh involving Deng more likely? The Raps would need to plug two holes in their starting lineup (PF - Gibson, SF - Deng) and we could throw in James Johnson and draft picks as many already discussed. We then fill our starting SF vacancy with Lebron at the max and use leftover money to fill out the roster with maybe a Mike Miller/Kyle Korver-type shooter and veteran bigs. A Noah/James/Bosh frontcourt is easily the best in the NBA...better than Bynum/Artest/Gasol.

    Does this work?

    +5 good post

  • STOP IT!!!

EVERYONE, from Doug to any other DWADE hater, needs to STOP saying that a Rose/Wade backcourt wouldn't work.

You can't say Rose and LBJ would work well together and yet diss a Rose and Wade combination. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

The common EXCUSE is Rose and Wade both need the ball in their hands, but I guess LBJ doesn't need the ball in his hands. My response to that is WHAT A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT!!!

If anything, LBJ is a POINT-FORWARD, which means he needs the ball in his hands.

A Rose and Wade backcourt is simply a more athletic version of Thomas and Dumars.

WAKE UP PEOPLE and don't get run over by the LBJ-bandwagon!!!

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Its less Wade's fit but more everything else. The fact that Wade is 29 where Lebron is 25, the Fact that Wade is injury prone while Lebron had his first major injury ever this postseason, and the fact that Wade dissmissed the integrity of the Bulls in hopes of making miami better.

Personally, if we got Wade that wouldnt be a bad thing, But Wade is behind Lebron and Bosh in players I want to get this offseason. If Dirk was actually available he would probably be behind Dirk as well. Its about fit first. Lebron is a better player, Bosh and Dirk are better fits and shooters for the 4 spot, Wade is a great player but not the best we can do.

Basically, I doubt anyone would consider getting Wade as the best possible offseason scenario. That would be getting Lebron and Bosh, moving Deng and then maybe signing Ray Allen. That puts us easily as the favorites next year. Replace Lebron with Wade and we are still a really good team but not as good as the first.

And dont even consider saying Wade is as good as Lebron. That argument gets you no where.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

+5 plus Wade already was talking crap about the Bulls. If he had any intentions on coming here....he would of just kept quiet.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

    Mr Happy,

What is wrong with you? Apparently ev1 knows but you that LBJ is better than Wade! He SHOULD be our first choice!! He's younger and is a BEAST!! Window of oppurtunity is larger...etc. Wade is incredible but he is 2nd...LBJ is 1st
