The Clippers may be without point guard Baron Davis tonight, which gives the Bulls a break at just the right time. Chicago lost an embarrasing game to the Golden State Warriors just two nights ago, and Kirk Hinrich sidelined due to the flu. Not to be outdone, John Salmons ended up at the hospital with the same condition.
Bulls center Joakim Noah will have to be up for the challenge tonight, as he'll go up against All-Star candidate Chris Kaman, veteran Marcus Camby and athletic youngster DeAndre Jordan. The Clippers have a lot of big men, and even has Craig Smith ready off the bench to score the ball.
The Bulls will look for strong games out of Derrick Rose and Luol Deng tonight. Both need to score the ball, and put the Clippers' interior defense in early foul trouble. Rookie forward Taj Gibson can stretch the floor some, but will likely be guarded by Camby at opening tip.
Los Angeles have a weak back-court without Davis. Excluding the impressive Eric Gordon, the Clippers have Sebastian Telfair and Rasual Butler to offer. Rose should be able to get by the Clippers' perimeter defense with ease.
Chicago could use a lift from their bench tonight, as Jannero Pargo, Tyrus Thomas, Brad Miller and James Johnson combined to shoot just 7-of-27 from the field in Oakland. Miller especially is having a down year as he's averaging 6.7 points on 40.4% from the field.
The Bulls are on the second game of a seven-game road trip, and will play their final game the 29th of January against the New Orleans Hornets.
