The pre-post game, post game, fire VDN

Look, I don't think it's his fault.   I don't think his replacement will be much better.   However, I also don't think there's much choice left.   The team has lost 9 of 10 games and almost all of them have been blowouts.

What's worse than anything else is that the absolute tank the team has fallen into will destroy any chance of getting a meaningful free agent this off season.   The argument for Chicago was always "They have cap space and are better than new jersey or new york", well we're probably not better than New Jersey or New York the way we're playing.

There is no argument for Chicago if they can't boost talent and cap space, because the ownership has a well earned poor reputation when it comes to paying for talent to surround it's players with.

I feel bad for VDN, because I think he did some things well, and the roster hasn't given him much of a chance.   However, that being said, when your team is blown out every night by 20-30 points, you simply can't maintain the status quo.   The coach is the least expensive guy you can get rid of.

As for what to do in the future, I will have to come up with a new plan.   I feel either of my old plans would have been significantly better than what was done (rebuild around Rose, Gordon, Deng, and cap space or trade Rose for Bosh and rebuild around Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Bosh, Noah).

So the new plan, coming soon, until then, vent away on how badly this team stinks.

  • I outlined my plan.

Fire VDN and replace him with John Paxson, just like New Jersey did with Franks and Kiki.

Trade off Salmons, Hinrich, Thomas and maybe Johnson in order to move up in the draft. There are three keepers on this team. That would be Rose at PG, Deng at SF (not trade-able) and Noah at C.

If those guys continue to develop and shine, maybe the Bulls can still land a top free-agent or two. If not, there is always the DRAFT LOTTERY to find another superstar.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Paxson plan is to create the Laff-A-Bulls and he suceeded!

No-Shot Noah can not compete with good and strong forwards and centers , he is tooooooo weak and toooooo lazy to get stronger. This is his third year and it was the first time he was in shape. Strength comes from lifting all year for three years not one summer. If he did lift this big mouth would have told everyone!

Like Hinrich and Deng, Noah the Clown is grossly over rated.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Yes!. Paxson, so he can give face for his actions!!. Gar Forman should be the assistant!

  • We showed Joe Johnson just like we showed Chris and Lebron why they shouldnt come here. If we fire Vinny big deal, it wont make a difference because the talent level here is so poor its not even funny and the sad thing is some fans will claim the talent we have isnt all that bad. If we fire Vinny we will either end up with Pete or Bob, let me the first Bulls fan to commit suicide.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

i wouldnt want joe anyway..he would be terrible for the future..he's exactly a bigger ben gordon(defense and rebounding wise)..and will be 29 when the 2010 summer comes

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

Man Knicks are going to kill us twice in the next 20 days.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

    That would suck.

  • Hinrich Trade:

Send him to OKC for Etan Thomas, Shaun Livingston and a #1 Pick

    Salmons Trade:

Send him to SA for Roger Mason Jr. and Michael Finley

    Thomas and Johnson Trade:

Send them to Utah for Matt Harpring and a #1 Pick

I think all of those are somewhat do-able. If not, find other ways to DUMP their salaries.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

hinrich over westbrook? thunder are good but this years draft class and the progression of your future point guard for hinrich..thats never goina happend..better off saying westbrook and a 1st for john wall

  • It has to happen. They quit on him.

  • In reply to souleater7:

They quit on VDN during the West Coast Trip. I think it was during the Denver game. That's at least my opinion.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

yup..right after the miller shot at the buzzer..we just couldt show passion anymore...vinny isnt a good coach..and thats just one example of it..

  • In reply to Yunqn:

Not that Denver game. The one out WEST. It was close up until the 4th quarter. That's the game JR Smith went off on them. He was dunking the ball and hitting long 3pt shots. Nobody seemed to care during that stretch or ever since.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

i know..both games honestly..to lose like that..you just seen us only win against low talent teams..i know what you mean though

  • In reply to souleater7:

The losses took its toll on Noah, he seems to have quit to now.

  • In reply to souleater7:

The Bulls are apparently worth $511 million dollars. That's the 3rd richest franchise behind LAL and NYK. So, hopefully BIG JER opens up his wallet and spends some money to improve this team.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4729043

It sure looks like he can afford to pay the luxury tax.

  • It looks more and more better to trade for Boozer.

And Noah had the right idea. All this game I didnt see a team who wanted to play. Where is the heart and passion. They seem content with losing.

Salmons has been horrid on D. When we lost Kirk we went down hill allot.

We do need to make a move. Like before this weekend. Someone needs to be fired or a trade needs to be made or something.

  • There are really only two players to build around Rose and Noah.

I'd do what ever I could to trade Hinrich and Deng and let everyone else walk.

  • In reply to souleater7:

Deng will be tough to trade, because of his HUGE CONTRACT. However, I really think OKC would be a good fit for Hinrich. They need a veteran PG. If the Bulls could get two expiring contracts (Etan Thomas and Shaun Livingston), as well as a #1 Pick, I think the Bulls should go for it.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Package Deng for T-mac? All I know is Hinrich needs a change of scenery.

  • In reply to souleater7:

Houston already has Ariza and Budinger. Why do they need Luol Deng?

  • In reply to MrHappy:

first off..let me repeat myself by saying our best option for coach would be byron scott...he coached three point guards in his whole coaching career and look who it was and their success with him...
baron davis..chris paul and jason kidd vinny was a cheap coach and never coached or assisted they just wanted to save money..

  • In reply to Yunqn:

He's been there and done that. If Byron Scott can't win with SUPERIOR talent, like he had in New Jersey and New Orleans, why would he win with MEDIOCRE talent?

They should stay in house. I'd go with John Paxson for accountabilty purposes or Stacey King, because he's been watching this team for a year now.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

i like the stacy one but john doesnt like traveling w the team thats why gar does it...but i mean lets blow it up..all no past players from the skiles era..hinrich,deng and noah..because if a deal for bosh is deng and noah..then why not..we shouldnt stop ourselves from getting a star because of noah

  • In reply to Yunqn:

wait..byron had great success with new jersey..championship or not..but we should put a team around rose and byron and push the ball and give rose 1,000% of responsiblity and faster pace

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Stacey King? Will Neil Funk be his lead assistant?

  • In reply to MrHappy:

This team too often comes out flat in the first and the third quarters. They dig themselves holes, then are unable to crawl out of them. Whether it's because they have quit on Vinnie, they are too tired from logging heavy minutes early on, or simply are just not playing well - you have to cut Vinnie loose.

Can't wait to see the final two nights of this 4-in-5...

On the bright side, James Johnson looked great in garbage time. Blocking shots and scoring in a variety of ways. Albeit against backup players, but you take what you can get at this point.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

Keep Vinny, and let him crap coach us into drafting John Wall. BRING ON THE TANKING, THIS TEAM SUCKS!!!

  • In reply to JimmyBulls:

Do the Bulls need John Wall when they already have Derrick Rose? Aren't they both PG's? I'd take Evan Turner or Cole Aldrich. Those guys would be better for what the Bulls need.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

I see John Wall being more of a two that can play the point guard position. But make no mistake, his selling point is he effortless ability to get to the bucket and finish.

I like Turner, but he can't shoot and he just broke his back. Cole Aldrich is good in the college game, I just don't think he'll be all that as a pro. He strike me as a average below the rim NBA big.

  • In reply to JimmyBulls:

that would be fun..cuz wall exactly reminds me of who everyone thinks rose is but isnt..d wade..and bring on coach cal..wall is special..imagine..pg rose sg wall..up tempo...smh =)

  • In reply to JimmyBulls:

Golden State just beat the hell out of Nets in New Jersey. Don't the Bulls play them next? That should be fun.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

I'm sad to see Kelenna Azbuike hurt this season. He's a good guy and pretty good player. I know the Bulls could use him. They could also use Anthony Morrow. Both are free-agents next summer. HINT-HINT...John Paxson.

  • In reply to JimmyBulls:

God I will cry when I see Anthony Morrow, he is such a good 2 guard. He is a one trick pony but damn that one trick is something we dont have (3pt shot).

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

He's an unrestricted free agent and a former D-League player, just like Derrick Byars. The Bulls don't seem to like those kind of guys. We shall see how cheap the Bulls management is this summer.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

yea derrick byars I cant believe 29 other teams didnt pick up on the bulls mistake.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

Who cares about the other 29 teams in the league? The Bulls are the one's who lack 3pt shooting. As I recall, Derrick Byars was shooting 50% from the arc.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

we need a mark cuban like owner..watches his players..takes care of his players..endorses his team and will make ANY and EVERY single move to win..having said that..i know he hasnt won but you cant say he doesnt try...

  • In reply to MrHappy:

    sell the Bulls JR

  • In reply to souleater7:

If only that punk George Steinberner would of stayed another year

  • In reply to Dpauley23:

George hated owning the bulls but yes that was prior to MJ lol. Had George stayed and had MJ we would have maybe 12 titles now.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

    seriously?

  • In reply to souleater7:

in the Jordan Rules is spoke about how George was a part owener and really didnt care because of the Yanks but had we had MJ earlier George would still be owner.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

I'm pretty he didn't care because the team sucked and were routinely losing money. They only had about 6,000 per home game before MJ

  • In reply to souleater7:

watching john wall right now against uconn..he is exactly like d wade...slasher..midrange..speed..size..style..defensive wise on passing lanes and goes for the big time blocks..forget dwade and a max contract..put rose and wall with some pace in the backcourt..

  • In reply to Yunqn:

    That's a horrible combo

  • In reply to Dpauley23:

so you like the combination of rose deng and noah for our future when none complement each other..rose needs space and which one provides that...noah needs guys to shoot which one does that...deng slashes, cuts and launches up contested long twos and is a injury waiting to happend..you cant say rose and wall both wont have all star potiential...

  • In reply to Yunqn:

Is Wall a PG or SG? Last I checked, they have a PG.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

umm he's playing starting sg in uk right now and forever..wall was NEVER A TRUE POINT anyway...and they want bledsoe starting and bledsoe is a slasher just like rose..how horrible is having loul deng and rose then? so you would rather have wade than wall with the age and injury history and max contract for one player than just get a young player who plays like wade himself..you must not know who wall is..

  • In reply to souleater7:

save money and less risk and make our future BRIGHT!

  • In reply to MrHappy:

The one thing you could hang you hat on with Vinny was that he had his players play hard for him. Well that's not happening anymore. They need to make changes fast. I would probably go after Bryon Scott and if that doesn't work throw the bank at Karl at the end of the season. One of the main reasons why Vinny has to go is because the relationship from what I heard between Rose and Vinny is pretty bad. It kinda goes along with the sentiments that CDR said last during summer league involving the offensive sets

  • In reply to Dpauley23:

vinny NEVER TRUSTED rose..honestly..he didnt wanna risk his job and have rose at the end..and made debatable arguemtns but HE's THE FRANCHISE..

  • In reply to Dpauley23:

What was it that CDR said?

  • In reply to MrHappy:

and whoever thinks deng is a future piece should just stop now..deng is only an above average player..most points are jus 2 pointers and off blowouts..good player dont get me wrong..but if kobe, wade, lebron and everyone one else needs to play with a star then we shouldnt say noah(not as good defender people as people think and loul deng time is only goina tell if his stop for only taking long 2 point shots and injury will come...

  • In reply to Yunqn:

He's a future piece, unless they can trade off his HUGE SALARY, not likely.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

JR wont spend because he is making money because you idiots in Chicago go to games. Stop going like they did in Philly. John Paxson and Gar Forman wont say anything to him because they are yes men. Sad thing is we wont get a big player in 2010 and loss BG for nothing.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

At the very least we'll get Boozer

  • In reply to Dpauley23:

yay we lost BG for Boozer. We should get 40 games a yr out of him once he has his deal.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

I was saying at the very least. I think pretty good chance we get Johnson or Amare

  • In reply to Dpauley23:

Right now, I'm not feeling like any top free-agents are coming here. They may have to go after guys like David Lee, Kelenna Azubuike and Anthony Morrow. I like all 3 of those guys.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

Are the Bulls moving to South Beach? That's where Boozer wants to play.

  • In reply to Dpauley23:

He wants to go to Miami.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

    Bosh is going there

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

I wish they would have traded BG7 for David Lee. That could have made some sense.

  • In reply to Newskoolbulls:

lol this is true and right now we look like the old sixers too..the first year w.o a.i...they had NO shooting or defense but had a solid team and pushed and pushed the ball..but we dont push at all..so i dont get how they think we will win with up tempo guys on a slow pace..

  • In reply to MrHappy:

im tired of people overating noah he's solid and saying he is a future piece when he only is a rebounder..he's too slow on lateral movement to guard the pick and roll and too small to guard the low post..we all know that its a four on five when hes there..please people..we love em but stop with the exageration...

  • In reply to Yunqn:

four on five on offense i meant..and defense yeah hes long but only against teams like new york golden state or minnesota hes goina have big block numbers...

  • In reply to Yunqn:

Noah is a solid piece for the Bulls. He's a keeper for sure.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

so you wouldnt trade noah for a star if you had the chance..i mean..he's a good rebounder..but honestly he gets thrown around way too much..he weighs less than q.rich smh...he cant be our center..pf maybe..but then we need a shooting center to stretch the court on pick and pop and isolation

  • In reply to souleater7:

Noah is a weakling! The Net Lopez is the same size as No-Shot Noah and scored 25 and 10 rebounds. Noah is joke, strong and talented forwards and centers kill this Fairy from Florida, he is all mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We honestly need a hardass coach to dig into these players for every rebound they dont get.

We need a Bob Knight type coach to show emotion.

And if I see Salmons with his arms on his hips again i may rip them off.

  • In reply to 1096ballenf:

yeah but we also need to stop overrating our players..noah isnt a threat..loul is notorious for being ghost against any good defender..we cant space the floor at all..reason for noahs rebounds looking alot more than what it should

  • Anybody questioning my now about the lack of HEART and LEADERSHIP on this team?

  • no because its deeper than the 08 one which was a tremendous class...wall,favors,i mean even e.turner or xavier henry doesnt look like they would be top8 picks but there REALLY good for production and future

  • I'll take Evan Turner or Cole Aldrich. Thank you.

  • In reply to MrHappy:

evan broke his back..he may be wayyyy to risky..i mean everyone knew about blair and he looked like a lock for chicago and they pass...and aldrich is good but i dont know maybe...

  • no thats straight line speed and what about in the post...remember duncan vs noah..or lopez or any real center..he cant play center for us..it hurts offensively we need to stop acting like he's something special when he's just a better rebouding version of varejao
