The Chicago Bulls are firmly on the 2010 train this summer. Tonight,
they get a look at shooting guard Joe Johnson who is one of the players
available. Bulls is said to have interest in Johnson, if their main
targets are signed elsewhere.
Bulls forward Luol Deng led Chicago to victory over the New York Knicks
Thursday with a strong performance on both ends of the floor. New York
made history in attempting 29 three-point shots in the first half.
Kirk Hinrich played his best game of the season, as he took advantage
of the lack of guard depth on New York's roster. Against Atlanta,
Hinrich will have to face Johnson, Mike Bibby and former Bull Jamal
Crawford. He and John Salmons will have a difficult task at hand,
trying to match the productivity of the Hawks main three perimeter
Last time these two teams met, the Bulls were beaten by 35 points in
Atlanta. Forward Josh Smith had his way with the Bulls, going inside,
outside and upstairs to finish plays. Bulls center Joakim Noah and
rookie forward Taj Gibson will look to slow him down at the United
The Bulls could also use a superb game from second-year man Derrick Rose, if they wish to win thier tenth game this season. Rose has struggled this year without having shooters to play off of, and he's been having trouble breaking the wall of defenders who collaps on him.
Chicago will also face old friend Joe Smith, who was a fan favorite at the United Center for the short time he wore a Bulls uniform.
