Per K.C. Johnson's round-up, Luol Deng's otherwise successful night was tarnished slightly by a dislocated finger.
Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro said Deng would have played more but he dislocated a pinkie that already has been put back in place and isn't serious.
Is this the continuation of an alarming trend? Is Deng continuing along the inevitable road to his Camby-like status as a man constantly suffering from some kind of ailment? Is our 24 year old forward never going to be fully healthy again? Is this supposedly minor ailment actually just a microcosm of a bigger problem? Does this injury really mean something after all?
No.

wow lol i was gona like rant until i saw the "No" at the end of it... yah i think that would be an overreaction if anyone read anything into just a dislocated finger..... lets see how he does once the season starts unless something really serious happens in the pre season.
Nothing to worry about really. Hey Mark I read about the tickets you won, really cool of you to give them to someone. Your a good dude.
Kobe had a dislocated finger during the end of the 09 season and it didn bother him at all. Now a shoulder thats an issue.
I do that all the time. The first time I did it I was playing football at school at lunch and dislocated my pinkie and the nurse sent me to the emergency room. All she had to do was pop it back in place. It hurt like hell but once the doctor set it back it just felt like a jammed finger. If it's on his left hand he should be fine. I think if it's his shooting hand he might have some pain. I have dislocated it getting it caught in a bed sheet or just playing pickup ball. It sucks put I pop it back in myself. It just swells up and feel tender. He'll have problems with that finger for the rest of his life. But not a big deal.
UNfortunately Deng is looking more and more like a marshmellow and another in our long line of Mope a Dopes. Maybe Leo Durocher was correct, nice guys do indeed finish last.
YOu have to be one tough mother to lead a professional sports team to a championship, obviously Deng has never been that.
He is damaged goods. I just hope we can dump his contract on someone else.
I agree on the talent part, but it seems to me that he has never recovered what little mental or physical toughness that he had after his psyche was wounded over 2 years ago when contract negotiations didn't go exactly as he would have liked.
His reaction to that situation really made me turn on him, and his play has continued to deteriorate ever since.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I heard that somewhere, sounds pretty good to me.
How tough is it to argue with your employer over whether you are going to make $10 million per year or $12, wow that is adversity, how has he survived.
Not sure that he was ever that expolosive, he needs to regain or just plain gain some intestinal fortitude and make the most out of whatever his body has left, which may just not have been enough to begin with.
I have a feeling that he and Thomas will compete for my least favorite player this season, I still give Thomas the edge going in.
