Let's assume that Mitch McConnell is tried and convicted of being an enemy of democracy and a traitor to this country and the Constitution.
It's not much of a leap.
McConnell has committed any number of atrocities worthy of death. We have to rule out torture though, as it violates the whole "cruel and unusual" thing.
McConnell has voted six raises for himself, but voted AGAINST raising the minimum wage FIFTEEN times. Take a moment to think about that.
McConnell enjoys the best health care available in America and will for the rest of his pathetic life. Why is he determined to take health care away from those who need it the most?
In March of 2016 Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died and McConnell's response was that the Senate would not approve ANY Supreme Court justice nomination put forward by President Barack Obama.
For this alone, in my opinion, McConnell should be terminated. He obliterated my vote and the votes of 66 million other people who voted for Barack Obama in 2012.
We elected him to be president for four years and to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of a president during that four year term.
Merrick Garland, a centrist and a judge who had previously been vaunted by Republicans should be sitting on the Supreme Court, not some beer guzzling rapist.
Amidst rumors about his sexuality, McConnell managed to marry a woman way above his weight class-his second marriage. He also has three kids, Elly, Porter and Claire.
McConnell told a crowd at the annual Fancy Farm Picnic in August of 2016 that the proudest moment of his life was when he looked President Barack Obama in the eye and said, "Mr. President, you will not fill this Supreme Court vacancy."
He's prouder of violating a specific provision of the Constitution and of being a racist a-hole than he is of any of his kids or his wife. That should tell you all you need to know about the man.
In 2017, McConnell lambasted Democrats who were less than enthusiastic about Trump's nomination of Neil Gorsuch to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who stepped down, at Trump's urging.
Said McConnell on CNN, "The American people simply will not tolerate" Democrats blocking Trump's SCOTUS nominee."
Unmitigated gall? Legendary hypocrisy? I say, Both!
The House of Representatives recently passed a bill calling for expanded background checks for gun buyers. That seems perfectly sensible and in line with the sentiment of about 90% of America.
If you think Mitch McConnell will bring something like that to the floor of the Senate, you are woefully naive.
McConnell is much more concerned about whatever his financial arrangements with the National Rifle Association may be than he is with the will of 90% of the American people.
With deference to that vast majority of America, let's just eliminate the shooting option.
Hangings are both teachable moments and justifiable public spectacles. As a recent survivor of what is known as a hangman's fracture however, it's a little too close to home for me.
That leaves beheading. It sounds bad, but the guillotine has historical significance which, if one could be secured (or built), would serve as a warning to politicians who insist on subverting our democracy for their own gain.
As a twist and to start a new American tradition, we can have post beheading soccer games. Just be careful not to stub your toe.
