Chicago Bears not yet on same level as Green Bay Packers
How many Chicago Bears fans went to work this week, miserably wearing Packers gear, after losing bets to their buddies and being made to endure the shame of wearing green and gold, while their friends gloated behind them taking selfies? What seemed, at least for the first half of the game, as a possible win... Read more »

Chicago Bears’ positional battles: 5 spots to keep an eye on

1. Middle Linebacker: D.J. Williams vs. Jon Bostic

There will be a different look in the middle of the Bears’ defense this season, as Brian Urlacher will no longer be a part of it. The Bears added two new additions this off-season in D.J. Williams (pictured) via free agency and Jon Bostic in the 2nd round of the Draft. Williams is a 10-year veteran who has the speed to cover the deep middle and get sideline-to-sideline. Bostic is arguably a similar player with a little more athleticism and the ability to rush the passer.

I feel this competition will be decided on how well Bostic performs in training camp. In rookie mini-camp, Bostic, from various reports, looked very comfortable with the defense as far as calls and knowing where to be on the field. Williams is the favorite to win the job, but Bostic has a very good shot at surpassing him by the end of training camp.
With the Chicago Bears’ OTAs in progress and training camp approaching, here’s a look at five positional battles you should keep an eye on this summer.
