Chicago Bears close out the preseason with a loss to the Cleveland Browns

Chicago Bears close out the preseason with a loss to the Cleveland Browns
I have never watched my favorite NFL team play a game as calmly as I did on Thursday night. It goes without saying (but I will) that there is no doubt the Chicago Bears can beat the Cleveland Browns any day. Heading into the game, the Chicago Bears were 2-1 in the preseason, while the... Chicago Bears: NFC North offseason rankings

4. Green Bay Packers

The Pack have been relatively quiet thus far, but that has been GM Ted Thompson's mantra. He builds through the Draft and does not seek to make splashes in Free Agency.

Although they re-signed two of their own linebackers in Rob Francois and Brad Jones, they haven't added anyone new to the roster, and they lost Greg Jennings to the Vikings.

Green Bay has lots of needs, so they are in position to draft the best player available, which is always a good strategy.

We can hate the Pack, but they do it right, and in the end it would not surprise me if they have the best draft in the division, despite having the lowest first-round draft position.
The offseason is far from over, of course, as the NFL Draft is still weeks away, plus there are players available in Free Agency. But to this point, we can still make a solid assessment (worst to best) of how the Bears have done relative to the rest of the NFC North thus far.

In Enemy Territory: San Diego Chargers
Against the Offense The story in San Diego is the season-long slump that Philip Rivers is currently in. This year Rivers has compiled 15 interceptions and eight fumbles (four of them lost). No doubt that Rivers’ decision-making has been horrendous so far this season, attempting way too many throws into double coverage. With all that... Read more »

In Enemy Territory: Detroit Lions
Against the Offense The Bears will be catching a break as Running Back Jahvid Best will miss the game this Sunday with a concussion. This gives the Bears an opportunity to zero in on the Lions passing game which is the strength of the offense. There’s no shutting down 6-5 236 pound Calvin Johnson, but... Read more »
