The Chicago Bears announced their opponents and tentative dates for the 2013 preseason on Thursday.
The team’s home contests include a nationally-televised tilt versus the San Diego Chargers on Thursday, August 15 at 7:00pm CT on ESPN. The Bears will also host the Cleveland Browns to close out the preseason on Thursday, August 29 at a time to be determined—the 10th consecutive year the two teams will play their final preseason game against one another.
The Bears’ preseason begins on the road against the Carolina Panthers (date TBD between Aug. 8-11) and also travel to Oakland to take on the Raiders (date TBD between Aug. 22-25). Exact dates and times will be announced at a later date.
Contests versus Carolina, Oakland and Cleveland will be produced and broadcast by the Chicago Bears Network in high definition. Each game will be shown live on WFLD-TV in Chicago and stations throughout the Midwest. All four games will be broadcast on WBBM Radio (780 AM and 105.9 FM) with Jeff Joniak (play-by-play), Tom Thayer (color analyst) and Zach Zaidman (sideline reporter).
