Chicago Bears hire Mike Groh as wide receivers coach

From the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Saturday, the Bears announced the hiring of former Alabama wide receivers coach Mike Groh to the same position with Chicago. It would appear that new head coach Marc Trestman’s coaching staff is now complete.

Groh played quarterback at Virginia (1994-95), leading the Cavaliers to nine wins and a bowl victory in consecutive seasons. His first stint in coaching came as an assistant with the New York Jets before returning to his alma mater as first a QB/WR coach and eventually offensive coordinator.

Groh spent his last two seasons with Alabama, helping lead the team to consecutive national championships.
