The Chicago Bears signed G Chris Riley to their practice squad on Thursday to fill the spot vacated by G/T James Brown, who was promoted to the active roster on Wednesday.
Riley was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State in 2011. He was released by Cincinnati at the end of the preseason and signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he earned a spot on the practice squad.
The 6’5” offensive lineman played 35 games (31 starts) for Illinois State, appearing at both left and right tackle. He was evaluated as a guard in the NFL, however.
