Apparently the Bears’ newest running back, former Oakland Raiders star Michael Bush, was expecting Chicago’s night scene to be a little bit more inviting. Or perhaps just not so exclusive . . .
On Saturday, Bush tweeted what he called a “strike one” for the Windy City, when he commented on how he was denied access to the Paris Club on Hubbard.
“Couldn’t get in the Paris Club in Chicago ‘cuz they wanted to see a player’s card. Really? Strike 1 Windy City.”
Typically known for its casino connotations, it appears as if the Paris Club uses its own “Player’s Card” system for high profile guests. Bush, unfortunately, didn’t yet have one to show.
A day later, Bush tweeted this about a second attempt to access one of Chicago’s better known establishments:
“Couldn’t get into the Underground. Really? Strike 2. I’m heading home to get ready for my tee time in the AM . . .” And then an ominous, “. . . I remember everything.”
As if to reiterate his frustration, Bush added . . .
“Really disappointed in Chicago. The Windy City, aka downtown Chicago, I’ve always heard this is the place u want 2 be. Uhh, I’m not a believer yet.”
Looks like Chicago is coming up on its third strike . . .
Sometime on Sunday, Bush deleted these three tweets from his twitter account. But of course, we remembered everything (tracked them down, actually).
Personally, I found the tweets humorous, and I don’t judge Bush’s reaction to being snubbed. And I suspect that shortly after he takes the field this fall, he shouldn’t have any trouble getting into either locale.
Give Chicago some time, Michael. We’ll make you a believer yet!
