The NFL Divisional Round of the Playoffs kicks off this weekend, and the staff at Chicago Bears Huddle have turned in their weekly picks. Remember: this year, we are also competing against you, the reader. Voting has closed for the week.
In the AFC
Denver Broncos (9-8) at New England Patriots (13-3)
Saturday 7:00pm Central
Tebow time, baby! Or maybe Bill Belichick and the Pats defense will be smart enough to force Tebow to go through all of his reads on each down. Because, if they do—and do it the entire game—they’ll win. But Denver's defense is playing very well right now, and they'll be looking to make Tom Brady uncomfortable; but with an improved New England offensive line, that may prove difficult.
Houston Texans (11-6) at Baltimore Ravens (12-4)
Sunday 12:00 Central
Given the Raven's run defense—second best in the league behind the 49ers—T.J. Yates is going to have to try and get the better of an equally scary Baltimore secondary. And the Ravens are undefeated at home this season. It's hard to imagine giving the Texans the nod in this game, but hey, that's why they take the field on Sunday.
In the NFC
New Orleans Saints (14-3) at San Francisco 49ers (13-3)
Saturday 3:30pm Central
The Saints looked virtually unstoppable last week but have been a different team on the road through 2011, posting a 5-3 record. The 49ers have, potentially, the scariest defense in the league. But, if San Francisco falls flat early, can Alex Smith keep pace with the Saint's explosive offense?
New York Giants (10-7) at Green Bay Packers (15-1)
Sunday 3:30pm Central
The game was made for the New York Giants. On the road, against the reigning champs, many already penciling the Packers in as Super Bowl repeats ... That is just the kind of scenario in which the Giants shine, and they're currently playing their best football all season. The way to beat Aaron Rodgers is to generate pressure with your front four, and if any team in the this race can do that effectively, it's the Giants.
