Bears Lose Long-Snapper Patrick Mannelly for Season

Patrick Mannelly set the record for a Chicago Bears player for most consecutive starts against the Chargers last night at 215 games.

He was lost due to a ruptured ACL in his left knee, the team reported on Monday.

While fullback Tyler Clutts filled in for the injured Mannelly in the Bears win overSan Diego, Matt Spaeth is currently listed as backup long-snapper.

None of that, however, means much. I’d expect the team to place Mannelly on IR as early as today and look to bring in veterans for tryouts this week.
