According to Dez Clark's twitter account, he claims that he will be suiting up to play on Sunday.
From his twitter page:
@tightwork88: "It may be time to see 88 back on the field. Long over due. NFC Championship baby!!!"@tightwork88: "88 will be on the field Sunday. Here we go 88 fandom!!! Let's get it on."
Hopefully Clark will be on the field for more than just special teams. Facing a Packers defense that is extremely physical, its quite possible that Dez will be active to play a role on offense.
With the lack of blocking ability that Brandon Manumaleuna has these days, Dez could be suiting up to help block Clay Matthews. If Clark is indeed in the game to catch passes, this would be one of the better moves that the Bears coaching staff could had made. The Packers defense gets away with a lot of holding and illegal contact, and having a physical guy like Clark could be a huge factor in this game.
Dez played the role of Mike Williams last week in practice, and could possibly see time at receiver on Sunday.
In 16 career starts vs. the Packers, TE Desmond Clark has 34 receptions for 401 yards and two touchdowns (11.79 yards p/reception average). One of those touchdowns catches came on a game-winning, 34 yard pass by Brian Griese.
Welcome back Dez!
