Seeing music performed live is one of life's great pleasures and this site will attempt to capture that spirit. It's easy to dwell on the negative aspects of the music industry and the live concert industry and there are plenty of blogs out there that already do that quite well. This site will focus on the positive in a collaborative environment between author and reader. Please comment frequently with any questions, comments or great thoughts. Thanks!
This site is dedicated to capturing the spirit of one of the best live music cities in the country: Chicago, Illinois... and will attempt to do so via frequent live concert reviews, artist interviews and a monthly spotlight on Chicago's vibrant local music scene.

Jim Ryan is a concert-goer by night who doesn't sleep and has put himself into hock for the sake of seeing live music since 1994 (when he spent money he didn't have, ditched a day of freshman year high school and went to see The Smashing Pumpkins and The Beastie Boys at Lollapalooza '94 in Tinley Park... Though he spent his parents' money in October 1984 shortly before his fifth birthday to attend his first concert: Michael Jackson at Comiskey Park).
Jim once attempted to walk home drunk from the World Music Theatre following a Neil Young performance at Farm Aid, currently has Lionel Richie as his ringback tone and doesn't really like the Eagles.
