Saturday night in Highland Park, Richard Marx and Rick Springfield brought their co-headlining tour to Ravinia...
Both artists had a lot to celebrate on stage in Highland Park Saturday night.
As a Highland Park native, Marx was particularly comfortable on the Ravinia stage.
Not only is the singer songwriter celebrating the 30th anniversary of arguably his biggest album, his 1989 sophomore release Repeat Offender, but he's prepping the release of his latest studio effort, his twelfth, via BMG this fall.
Repeat Offender got the deluxe reissue treatment in April. Repeat Offender Revisited features newly recorded, newly arranged renditions of some of his biggest hits, plus a brand new video for "Right Here Waiting" culled from thirty years of live performances of the smash #1 hit.
Springfield is revisiting some of his biggest hits too and celebrated them Saturday night at Ravinia.
This past April, he released Orchestrating My Life, a project which pairs hits like "Jessie's Girl," "I've Done Everything For You" and "Don't Talk to Strangers" with new orchestral arrangements.
With a summer slate dating back to 1905, Ravinia bills itself as the oldest outdoor music festival in North America.
This summer's diverse schedule of performances continues this weekend with performances by Tony Bennett Friday night and George Thorogood with Melissa Etheridge on Sunday.
July kicks off with Steve Miller Band on the 1st and continues with the holiday weekend of pairing of Chaka Khan and Michael McDonald Saturday, July 6.
August features Ringo Starr, The Beach Boys and Chicago while September wraps up the 2019 schedule with Lenny Kravitz, Sweet, Steely Dan, Mary J. Blige and others.
