This is your guide to catching the best live music in Chicago both in the city and throughout the suburbs.  This weekend, The Rolling Stones continue their overpriced United Center residency... The street fest season kicks off with Disappears at Do Division... Plus area appearances by the incomparable Herb Alpert, Alkaline Trio, Lady Antebellum, Dispatch, Guster, Calexico and Huey Lewis.  All of this plus much more... 

In The City...

Do Division Street Fest (Friday through Sunday on Division Street between Damen and Leavitt.  $5 suggested donation each day.  All Ages) - Disappears performs on Friday, He's My Brother She's My Sister and Archie Powell & The Exports on Saturday, Jeff The Brotherhood and Viceroy on Sunday plus many more.

Alkaline Trio (9PM Friday at Metro. 18+, SOLD OUT) - Bayside and Off With Their Heads open

Charlie Mars and Pieta Brown (8PM Friday at City Winery. $18-25, All Ages)

Davendra Banhart (8PM Friday at Park West. $33, 18+)

Detroit Cobras (9PM Friday at Double Door. $13, 21+) - Pangea and The Statutes of Liberty open

Lady Antebellum (7PM Friday at Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.  All Ages) - *** This is a private show.  US99 winners and rewards members can pick up their tickets from will call which will open at 6PM.  All seats are assigned and are in the pavilion.  Items not allowed:  No professional cameras, umbrellas, hard or soft coolers or alcohol ***

Montgomery Gentry (Friday at the Congress Theater) - *** This concert has been CANCELLED ***

The Rolling Stones (Two shows at 8PM on Friday and Monday at United Center.  Each show is $163-$622.  All Ages)

Dispatch and Guster (7PM Saturday at U.I.C. Pavilion. $48, All Ages) - *** This event was originally scheduled at Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island.  All tickets purchased for Charter One Pavilion will be honored at U.I.C. *** 

Lovehammers (6:20PM Saturday at House of Blues.  $34-114, All Ages) - Vintage Blue, Superbig and Ockam's Razor open

The Menzingers (8PM Saturday at Subterranean. 17+, SOLD OUT) - Fake Problems open

Swingin' Utters (9PM Saturday at Cobra Lounge. $15, 21+) - The Goddamn Gallows, Brick Assassin and Anger open.

Bolt Thrower (Two shows on Saturday and Sunday at Reggie's Rock Club.  Doors open at 7:30PM, 17+.  Both shows are SOLD OUT) - Benediction opens both nights.  Jungle Rot also opens on Saturday.  Witchbanger also opens on Sunday.

Herb Alpert (7:30PM Sunday at Park West. $53, 18+) - Lani Hall also performs

Huey Lewis & The News (9PM Eastern Friday at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, MI.  SOLD OUT. All minors must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older, no minors under 5 years of age permitted)

John Fullbright (8PM Saturday at SPACE in Evanston. $12-18, All Ages) - Ruston Kelly opens

Jim has also worked locally for WXRT-FM, lives within walking distance of the Metro and is an avid White Sox and Blackhawks fan whose first live concert experience came at Comiskey Park in 1984 during the Jacksons' "Victory" tour.
