Chicagoland Weekend Music Spotlight: City and Suburban Live Music Highlights - Friday, 1.4.13 - Sunday, 1.6.13

This is your guide to catching the best live music in Chicago this weekend both in the city and throughout the suburbs.  This weekend, a highlight of the 2013 concert calendar comes early as Buddy Guy kicks off his annual January residency at Legends with a little help from John Primer.  Plus area appearances by The Tossers, Vintage Blue, ?uestlove and Black Thought, even William Shatner.  All of this plus much more... 

In The City...

Buddy Guy (Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in January at Legends. Thursday and Sunday shows are each $55.  Friday and Saturday shows are each $65. Buddy Guy performs at 10:30PM Thursdays and Fridays, at 11PM on Saturdays and at 9PM on Sundays.  All shows are 21+)

THIS WEEK: Friday 1/4 and Saturday 1/5 are SOLD OUT.  Openers:  Thursday - Scott Nev acoustic at 5:30PM followed by Mike Wheeler at 9PM.  Friday - Miesha Herron acoustic at  5:30PM followed by Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials at 9PM. Saturday - Nicholas Barron acoustic at 6PM followed by John Primer at 9:30PM. Sunday - Fruteland Jackson acoustic at 4PM followed by Samantha Fish at 7:30PM.  *** Doors open at 11AM on Thursdays and Fridays and at noon on Saturdays and Sundays ***

*** Per the Legends website: "SEATING IS NOT GUARANTEED! All tickets sold are GENERAL ADMISSION and seating is on a 'first-come, first-served' basis. After tables fill up, it is STANDING ROOM ONLY. Tables usually fill up between 2-4PM on Thursdays and Fridays. Tables fill up within the first 15-20 minutes of doors opening on Saturday and Sunday" ***

The Kinsey Report and Joanna Connor (Doors open at 7PM Friday and Saturday at Kingston Mines. Each show is $15, 21+)

William Shatner in "Shatner's World" (8PM Friday at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. $65-85, All Ages)
