Chicagoland Weekend Music Spotlight: City and Suburban Live Music Highlights - Friday, 1.11.13 - Sunday, 1.13.13

This is your guide to catching the best live music in Chicago this weekend both in the city and throughout the suburbs.  This weekend, Buddy Guy's annual January residency at Legends continues with performances all weekend featuring opening acts like Bryan Lee, Dietra Farr, Nelly "Tiger" Travis and Carlos Johnson.  Plus, area appearances by Emmylou Harris, Shirley Manson of Garbage, Grant Hart, Rakim, Dwele, Marc Cohn and Webb Wilder.  All of this plus much more...

In The City...

Buddy Guy (Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in January at Legends.  Thursday and Sunday shows are each $55.  Friday and Saturday shows are each $65. Buddy Guy performs at 10:30PM Thursdays and Fridays, at 11PM on Saturdays and at 9PM on Sundays.  All shows are 21+)

THIS WEEK:  Friday 1/11 and Saturday 1/12 are SOLD OUT.  Openers:  Thursday - Matt Hendricks acoustic at 5:30PM followed by Bryan Lee at 9PM.  Friday - Jimmy Burns acoustic at  5:30PM followed by Dietra Farr at 9PM. Saturday - Joe Price acoustic at 6PM followed by Nelly "Tiger" Travis at 9:30PM. Sons of the Silent Age (Shirley Manson, Matt Walker and Chris Connelly playing David Bowie) (7:30PM Friday at Metro. $19, All Ages) - The Waco Brothers (playing T. Led Zeppelin 2 (Two shows at 9PM Friday and Saturday at House of Blues.  Each show is $35, 17+)
