Chicagoland Weekend Music Spotlight: City and Suburban Live Music Highlights - Friday, 9/14/12 - Sunday, 9/16/12

This is your guide to catching the best live music in Chicago this weekend both in the city and throughout the suburbs.  This weekend, festivals take over the city for one last weekend:  Riot Fest features Iggy Pop, Elvis Costello, Rise Against and more in Humboldt Park.  Plus, the Hideout Block Party/AV Fest will be headlined by Iron & Wine and Wilco... Not to mention area appearances by Buddy Guy, Rush, Jason Mraz and Joan Osborne.  All of this plus much more...

In The City...

Bob Mould (8PM Thursday and Friday at Metro.  $24.  Thursday is 18+ and is SOLD OUT.  Friday is an all ages show and tickets are still available) - All Eyes West opens both shows.  *** Bob Mould plays Sugar's 1992 album Copper Blue and his new album Silver Age in their entirety ***

Riot Fest (Friday at Congress Theater, Saturday and Sunday in Humboldt Park.  Three day passes are SOLD OUT.  Two day Humboldt Park passes are $80.  Two day VIP pass is $175.  Single day passes for Friday are SOLD OUT.  Single day passes for Saturday or Sunday are $50 per day, $99 for VIP.  All Ages) - Over fifty acts perform on five stages.  Doors open Friday at 6PM at Congress Theater for Dead Sara, Pegboy, Neon Trees and The Offspring.  Doors open Saturday in Humboldt Park at 11:30AM for performances by GWAR, Hot Water Music, The Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys, Rise Against and many more.  Doors open Sunday in Humbolt Park at 11:30AM for performances by Reverend Horton Heat, Fishbone, Less Than Jake, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Alkaline Trio, Iggy & The Stooges and many more.
