Tis the season for giving... And if you're a music fan in Chicago, there's no better way to do it than to help Rock for Kids help local kids this Friday at Park West at the twenty-third annual Rock for Kids Rock & Roll Auction. This year's auction features items from Paul McCartney, Wilco and more... And live music fans will be drooling over contributions from Lincoln Hall, the Grammys and more...
One of the music community's finest traditions commences once again at 6PM on Friday at Park West: The 23rd Annual Rock for Kids Rock & Roll Auction.
Rock For Kids provides music education to underserved children in Chicago. What started in 1988 with twenty kids has grown in response to music budget cuts in the schools to serve 5,000 at risk and in need students annually.
Once again, the music community has managed to outdo itself with a variety of impressive, one-of-a-kind donations that will be up for auction Friday night at Park West, including...
- Signed Paul McCartney guitar
- An exclusive package of tickets to Wilco's upcoming run of five small venue, December concerts in Chicago
- VIP 2012 Grammy Awards tickets
- A Lincoln Hall VIP Pass
- Rare, signed items from Clarence Clemons, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Prince, U2, Lou Reed, The Beach Boys, George Clinton, David Bowie, The National, Soundgarden, my personal favorite from Bob Dylan and many, many more.
The festivities begin at 6PM on Friday at Park West and will also feature a live performance by the Rock for Kids Choir, a buffet and champagne reception in addition to the live and silent auctions.
If you can't make it out to Park West on Friday but still want to bid, it's an option (get all of the details on how at the Rock for Kids website). Items are also up for bid on ebay
