Our Baby is Turning One...Happy Blogiversary!

It's hard to believe our baby is turning one years old. Just last October I was sitting in my son's room barely coping from symptoms of Postpartum Depression when I decided I needed an avenue to let off some steam. A way to communicate how I felt, to talk about every day life and struggles....to just manage. I decided to start a blog and this was my first post. It felt good. Really good. I didn't really care if anybody read it. I just wanted to do something for ME. Something I hadn't done since my son was born in July. Not a night out, a haircut, not a nothing.

But people read it.

I decided to create a Facebook page. And people read that too.

I asked my two good friends to join on as guest bloggers and Facebook contributors and the numbers grew. I decided to take our blog to ChicagoNow in December and here we are! Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine my little stress reliever would end up here!

I know we will never be as big nor as good as some of the "mommy bloggers" out there but that's okay. We do this for us. We do this for you.
And of course, we want to celebrate our accomplishment with our fans!!! After all, without all of you, we wouldn't be here today! As a thank you for all you do for us, whether it be spreading the word, clicking LIKE, reading our posts, or making comments of your own ( we LOVE the interaction!), we are offering a sweet give away.

Sweet as in C-H-O-C-O-L-A-T-E!  Just in time for Halloween, we are giving away to 10 lucky winners a full line of Funley's  Stix in the Mud chocolates which are available at Walgreens Stores.

Funley’s Stix in the Mud fits perfectly into Walgreens’ latest initiative to introduce more candy options with less guilt. The delicious chocolate cookie clusters are a better-for-you alternative to other chocolate candy on the market. This award-winning family recipe is made with whole grain flour cookie bits and contain no preservatives, transfat or high fructose corn syrup, and no artificial anything! Funley’s Stix in the Mud come in three tasty options: “Original,” “Caramel” and “Peanut Butter,” each containing the same crunchy cookie bits inside. The “Original” flavor is made with a smooth blend of pure, natural milk and dark chocolate, while the “Caramel” and “Peanut Butter” options are covered in pure, natural milk chocolate. These delectable treats are even individually wrapped making them perfect for on-the-go snacking, and self-control!

Los Angeles-based Funley’s Delicious® was created in 2008 out of a passion for food and fun. After working in the entertainment industry for years, entrepreneurs Shawn and Ashley Mendel took their family-favorite recipe Stix in the Mud® and launched Funley’s. The Funley’s gang, Moe, Millie and their mischievous dog Lucy, cook up all-natural, wholesome products “entertaining mouths and minds everywhere™.”

We recently taste tested these chocolates with a few friends on a Saturday night. They are simply delicious! My favorite is the Original. It reminds me of a crunch bar only healthier and better tasting. I am looking forward to purchasing these to handout to the trick-or-treaters this Halloween. The 4.5oz boxes contain approximately 11 individually wrapped pieces inside and are great for a small neighborhood like mine.

So, in honor of our one year blogiversary, we will be giving away a full line of the Funley's to 10 lucky winners! For your chance to win,  please subscribe to our blog so you never miss a post from the Chi-town Mommies and enter here for the official drawing! Winners will be announced on October 16, 2013, our One Year Blogiversary!!!!!
