On Sunday April 28th from 11AM- 2PM, Catholic Charities will host the 22nd Annual Blossoms of Hope Brunch to support the Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS) and help spread suicide awareness in Chicago. Hosted by HGTV’s Monica Pederson, who lost her brother to suicide, the afternoon will feature a delicious brunch and silent auction, plus, Tregg Duerson, son of Chicago Bears great, will be presented with the 2013 Charles T. Rubey LOSS Award. Held at the Drury Lane of Oakbrook Terrace and attracting over 800 guests, everyone will be filled with love, strength and unity as they come together for this annual spring event.
"It is always a privilege to be a part of Catholic Charities Blossoms of Hope Brunch,” says Monica Pederson. “Having lost a loved one to suicide makes the mission of LOSS even nearer to my heart.”
Featuring raffle prizes and a silent auction showcasing with an amazing selection of items for home, garden, kids and entertainment, all proceeds will benefit LOSS, which provides support services for individuals and families who have lost a loved one to suicide.
With last year’s event proceeds, LOSS was able to provide 1,300 Chicagoans counseling and 335 families’ sessions that were suffering from the devastating impact of suicide. In addition, provide 120 monthly support groups including a Spanish-speaking group and groups focused on sibling and spousal loss.
