On Friday, November 2nd, over 600 guests gathered for an inspirational afternoon at Chicago House’s 4th Annual Speaker Series Luncheon at the Chicago Hilton Hotel with over $335,000 being raised for HIV and AIDS housing. Designer Kenneth Cole served as keynote speaker alongside emcee Cheryl Burton of ABC 7 Chicago, Chicago House CEO Stan Sloan and co-chairs Susanna Negovan and Todd Hamilton.
In a 30 minute keynote address to the crowd, Cole recounted his unique entry into the fashion world, selling shoes out of a trailer in mid-town Manhattan. His advocacy and trailblazing efforts in the global fight against AIDS are what attracted Chicago House to him.
CHI-lebrity VIP guests including ABC’s Sylvia Perez and Linda Yu, Project Runway Season 2 contestant Steven Rosengard, Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez, Macy’s Media Relations VP Andrea Schwartz, Glossed & Found’s Graham Kostic, local designers Borris Powell and Horacio Nieto, and Mary Francis Fagan of American Airlines were all in attendance.
