Public House (400 N. State) and the Chicago Artists’ Coalition have partnered to host an event blending two very CHI-lebrity subjects: art and private tastings! On Wednesday August 8th from 6-10PM, guests will be able to view and savor their way through a combination of contemporary art inspired by local craft beers. Five local artists were chosen to create an original artwork inspired by a local craft brew of their choice. The works will be on display during the event and guests will be able to sample the chosen beers and talk to the artists about their muses, as they vote on their favorite pairing. The winning pair of artist and brewery will be featured at CAC’s upcoming Starving Artist Benefit (2012starvingartist.com) on October 6th, which celebrates unique collaborations among our city’s local artistic and culinary innovators.
The five local artists and breweries featured at the event include:
Industry of the Ordinary inspired by Solemn Oath’s Oubliette
Brent Fogt inspired by Finch’s Threadless
Alexandra Lee (ATYL) inspired by 5 Rabbit Golden Ale
Nancy Lu Rosenheim inspired by Goose Island’s four sisters’ beers, Matilda, Marisol, Sofie and Lolita.
Shawn Stucky inspired by Finch’s Golden Wing
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased via www.publichousechicago.com.
