It wasn't pretty, but DePaul won a very important game yesterday against Pittsburgh. After losing to #1Syracuse four days prior, this was a must win for the Demons if they wanted to start the Big East with the right foot.
The Panthers were on top, but a late 2nd half comeback by DePaul sent the Allstate Arena into a frenzy, whom had not seen their team win a Big East game since two years ago.
The Demons were led by sophomore Brandon Young, who scored 26 points, including a three-point play with 1.3 seconds left to seal the game.
The athleticism of Young helped him get around Pitt's best player Ashton Gibbs and score the last 7 points for DePaul.
Cleveland Melvin also had a strong performance, scoring 20 points and grabbing 6 rebounds.
The team is now riding with a high-morale and a 10-4 (1-1 Big East) record expecting to beat Villanova (0-3 in Big East play), before they face one the toughest stretch of their season.
