I love, love, love a good parenting hack. Some hacks are ideas I've known forever and others are new (at least to me)... either way, I love seeing the many ways they're shared with parents, nannies, and caregivers because they're always new to somebody, amirite? Well, today, it's my turn to share a parenting hack I love with you - hope you like it!
First, let's understand something about kids and snacks. No matter how many times you pack up that banana, cereal bar, apple, cookie... whatever! If you're not careful, it's going to break, bruise, or crumble in your bag. Heck, even if you ARE careful, let's be honest - it's probably going to break, bruise, or crumble and, for some of us, that means we have a cranky hangry little one who now won't eat his or her banana because it's "too mushy." What to do? No worries, mama, I've got your back. Today, I give you...
Kelley's Parenting Hack for food on the go:
This super simple trick will help you keep soft foods uncrumbled and unbruised in backpacks and diaper bags all day long, if necessary! All you need to do is pack them into appropriately-sized reusable containers (I tend to go for Gladware, but use whatever works for your family, by all means), like so:
Tada! It's that simple - genius, right? And a life saver if you have a picky child in your crowd! Plus a bonus: that gladware container can double as a pail in a sandbox, collect delicate treasures (like leaves), rocks, and more without cluttering up the rest of the bag! Have an idea you'd like to share? I'd love to hear about your favorite parenting hack in the comments below, too, so please fill my readers and me in!
