The James Beard Awards return for the third time to the Lyric Opera House on May 1. And happily, many Chicago culinary stars and restaurants have been named as finalists.
And our nominees are:
Outstanding Baker category--Glenn Wade (Publican Quality Bread)
Outstanding restaurateur--Kevin Boehm and Rob Katz (Boka Restaurant Group)
Rising Star Chef--Jenner Tomaska (Next)
Best Chefs (Great Lakes)-- Beverly Kim and Johnny Clark (Parachute), Sarah Grueneberg (Monteverde), Lee Bolen (Boka), Erling Wu-Bower (Nico Osteria), Abraham Conlon (Fat Rice).
