The Junior Council hosted over 2,300 guests at its annual Snowball Gala held in the Great Hall of historic Union Station on January 30. The Gala raised over $235,000 to support the pediatric and adolescent AIDS and HIV programs at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and is the Council’s largest donation to date!
The evening included tastings from twenty-five Chicago restaurants and featured one of the event's best auctions ever that brought in over $57,000! “Snowball 2016 was amazing, we raised $235,000.00 which was $10k over our goal. I am so proud of the Junior Council for all their hard work. We want to thank the many Chicago companies and young professionals who came out to raise money for the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital.” said Annie Hudson, director of Snowball.
The Junior Council is a group of young professionals in the Chicagoland area whose mission to help ensure all children with HIV/AIDS can have access to high-quality pediatric healthcare regardless of their ability to pay.
Established in 1987 by Dr. Ram Yogev and Dr. Ellen Chadwick, the HIV and AIDS program cares for more children and adolescents than any other pediatric HIV service in the region. (Photos by TKL Photography)
