Planes, exotic cars, helicopter rides, delicious food, fun fashions and more all created an atmosphere of the total luxe life for the 4th annual Primo Classico 2015, held this year in Hawthorne Global Aviation Services' brand new 30,000' ft. hangar in Wheeling, IL. Nearly 400 guests attended this year's event hosted by Diane and Quintin Primo III, chaired by Cassie Carver (Lake Forest Sportscars) and benefiting the Primo Center for Women and Children.
The Center was founded over 40 years ago by Quintin's father, Quintin E. Primo, Jr. a bishop for the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, and his wife Winifred P. Primo, an educator. An award, named in their honor, was presented to Congressman Danny Davis for his service to the community.
Lake Forest Sportscars provided eye candy with the dramatic unveiling of Ferrari's 488 GBT, a super high performance car that can reach speeds of over 200 mph and cost upwards of $240K! Planes were dotted throughout the massive hangar and served as a dramatic backdrop for photo opps.
The private aircrafts on display included a Pilatus PC-12, a Hawker 800 XNP, a Falcon 2000 and a helicopter (that offered rides to guests with fees donated to the Center).
For the reception, guests enjoyed tastings from Basil Leaf Cafe, Bella Via, Prosecco, Shop & Save Market and Tocco Restaurant. Wine pairings, sponsored by Wine Channel TV and selected by founder Jessica Altieri, featured vintages from Tenute Rubino vineyards.
Chef Maura Mafrici of Pelago Ristorante underwrote a two-course seated dinner that included cavatelli with fresh tomatoes, asparagus and goat cheese and a roasted veal chop with mushroom sauce. Chic decor in shades of soft aqua and coral was designed by Debi Lilly from A Perfect Event and completed the elegant, luxe atmosphere.
David Goodman conducted a live auction that included exotic trips to Bali and Tanzania accompanied by Qatar Airways (a longtime event sponsor) business class tickets (love you Rebecca Jelfo!), training for four with former Navy Seals, a $22K Hublot watch along with a Tom James custom-made suit, a private party for 20 at Lake Forest Sportscars with the James Bond DB5 car plus trips to Italy, Costa Rica and the Bahamas.
"The Primo Classico 2015 was a magical event. The people, food, vehicles and planes were on a level I have not seen before at a charitable event. Everyone had an extraordinary time escaping, if just for a night, to the European luxe life. But the evening was all about the cause, helping the Primo Center help people in need, those in our community who find themselves homeless, mentally anguished and all but forgotten, " shared Quintin, board co-chair. The event raised over $500,000 to support the Center.
The 5th annual Primo Classico will be held this time next year in the same venue so make sure you mark your calendars for this high-flying fundraising event! (Fab photos by Mila Samokhina!)
