Stanley Paul Scholarship Benefit honors philanthropic couple: Myra and John Reilly

For the first time in the event's history, the Stanley Paul-Raelene Mittelman Scholarship Benefit honored a couple.  Well known and much loved philanthropists, Myra and John Reilly, were toasted and roasted at the Casino recently in front of a crowd of fans and friends.

John Reilly, a popular society photographer, had shot many of the attendees' photos throughout the years and these images scrolled on a large screen during the program.  An early shot of host Stanley Paul at the piano brought cheers from the crowd that included his niece Joanie Legittino (Raelene's daughter) as well as four of the Reilly's seven grandchildren.

Entertainment reporter Bill Zwecker served as emcee and introduced the Reilly's roasters/toasters-- JoAnn and Stuart Nathan, daughter Lisa Schlenker, Dori Wilson and Jason Brett.

The finalists for the 2015 Stanley Paul-Raelene Mittelman Scholarship award ($5000) were announced during the evening and will be presented at the Leadership Awards ceremony sponsored by The Apparel Industry Board and the 100 Club of Chicago on October 1 at the Four Seasons.

"It is truly a pleasure to assist these fledgling designers in continuing their education in fashion design and for us to be a part of their dream," shared Stanley.   (Photos by John Reilly Photography)
