Nearly 300 fun-loving guests attended the 6th annual Glamorama Launch Party at the chic new venue, Chez, 247 E. Ontario, on June 19. This party kicked off the main event, Macy's Passport Presents Glamorama, which will be at the Harris Theater on Friday, August 8, and feature cool recording artist Jason Derulo along with fabulous fashions from Macy's State Street.
The Launch Party was filled with longtime supporters including fashion designer Elda de la Rosa. She presented her designs on leggy models who strolled languidly throughout the venue as guests oohed and ahhed over the chic creations. Food for Thought Catering's Chef Markus Ford prepared a special treat, customizable s'mores, as well as other tasty hors d'oeuvres like "pop rock truffles." And DJ Sye Young returned to spin beats and had guests dancing their hearts out on the dance floor as Ronald McDonald greeted guests on the Red Carpet. Beautiful floral displays in shades of hot pink and purple dotted the tables courtesy of another long-time sponsor, Debi Lilly of Debi Lilly Lifestyle.
Upon arrival, every guest was given a free raffle ticket with the winners chosen at the end of the evening. Fabulous prizes included a $1000 gift certificate to The Container Store (a new supporter of Ronald McDonald House Chicago), a Leah Chavie skincare experience, four tickets to "Seussical the Musical" (courtesy of Chicago Shakespeare Theater), VIP table service at Cuvee and many more. There was also a "Fashion on the Rocks" whiskey tasting courtesy of Koval Distillery and ActionBooth.com returned to provide partygoers with lasting photo memories from the event.
This year's host committee included Paul Iacono, Leah Chavie, Lori Allen, Jennifer Brieva, Fabrice Calmels, Kathleen Henson, Stephanie Krol, Andrea Schwartz, Katie McLenaghan, Frances Renk, Laura Schwartz, Gayle Anthony, Carmen Rivera, Joan Colmar, Jena Gambaccini, Marco Foster, Mary Haggerty, Nikki Lynette and Ken Norgan. Others guests included Rhonda Sanderson, Samantha Amato, Julia Jacobs-Sanford, Beth Silverman, Debbie Jagel, Dr. Joaquin Brieva and Matt Olaveson among many others.
Glamorama's "Fashion Rocks" returns to the Harris Theater on August 8 and, besides headliner Jason Derulo, the event will feature over 100 new looks from Calvin Klein, Diesel, I-N-C International Concepts, Tommy Hilfiger and others. For the 8th year, Glam benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. To date, Macy's Passport Presents Glamorama has raised more than $1 million for the charity! An after-party will follow on the Rooftop of the Harris.
