The Gang's All Here: Beloved Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse Celebrates 25

Beloved Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse celebrated its Silver Anniversary in delicious style and the gang was ALL there!   The heavy hitters' table included both our Mayors,  Rahm and Richie!  It was a wild night and the Gibsons' Silver Oak Reserve Cabernet was flowing!  Partner John Colletti was sharing glasses with longtime customers all around the room Monday night, April 21,  which was packed to overflowing with boldface names like Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy, Casey Urlacher, Terry Gabinski, Terry Newman, Dori Wilson, Dan and Sharon Uslan, Michael Kutza, Jamie Gabala, owners Peg and Steve Lombardo, Laura and Howard Sims, Paul Iacono, Peter Chi Au,  and so many more.  The party continued Tuesday night when former Governor Jim Edgar, Fergie Jenkins, Taj Gibson, Denise Tomasello, Vonita Reescer, Mary Lasky, Tina Weller, Rhonda Sanderson, Jerry Matthews, Sherry Lea Holson, Marty Gutilla, Rob Morhaim and Ted Tetzlaff joined in the fun.

A Red Carpet out front signaled that this was not an ordinary night at this extraordinary hotspot.  I remember when Gibsons first opened.  As a matter of fact, it's indelibly written in my mind since this was the night of our engagement 25 years ago!  I asked Chuck to marry me (yes, you heard me right, I'm no fool!) and then our first stop was Gibsons Bar!  A photo of us snapped on this very special evening hangs on the wall to this day and always makes us smile.

As a way of thank you,  at all Gibsons' locations (Chicago, Rosemont and Oak Brook) steaks on the menus were offered for only $25!   A special steak was also introduced for the anniversary, the 42 Chop.  Soon to become a permanent menu item priced at $99, this USDA Prime Angus steak  is named in honor of one of Gibsons’ most cherished owners and long time patron, Chicago Bears’ 1943 NFL MVP Sid Luckman.   The number 42 represents Luckman’s number.  Awwwwww......:-)

Congrats on your Silver Anniversary Gibsons!  Can't wait to see the plans you have for your Golden!
