The 20th Green Tie Ball returned to the Emerald City (at A. Finkl & Sons) with over 2000 supporters happily skipping along the yellow brick road to benefit Chicago Gateway Green's expressway, gateway and neighborhood beautification programs. Over sixty restaurants participated along with lots of recognizable faces in the crowd. Windy City Live's Valerie Warner and Ryan Chiaverini emceed the event which also attracted Blackhawk Duncan Keith, Bull Dickey Simpkins, 85' Bear Steve McMichael, Bear Jerry Azumah, Cece and Tom Ricketts, Roe Conn, Richard Roeper, Neil Steinberg, Amy Jacobson and the Food Dude David Lissner among many others.
Gateway Green Board Chairman, Tony Abruscato, along with dynamic co-chairs Tim Smithe and Stephanie Castagnier, planned a memorable night under the tents and stars for this much loved party. Guests were still arriving as we were leaving, which is always the mark of a great event. The dancing continued into the wee hours to the sounds of Dr. Bombay, DJ Rock City and Too White Crew. The food trucks, live and silent auctions and charitable gaming, courtesy of Rivers Casino, completed this enchanted evening. Even the lights at Navy Pier and the John Hancock Building turned green with envy.
