The Baton Show Lounge owner, Jim Flint, had a smile from ear to ear on the night of his 42nd anniversary, a party he described as his own "personal party." Indeed, the evening was by invite only and was an intimate gathering of his long time friends and supporters.
Silver balloons filled the ceiling and congratulatory flowers were everywhere you looked. Long time choreographer, Harrison McEldowney, once again worked his magic on this evening's new show which included the fabulous Chilli Pepper, Mimi Marks, Sasha Colby, Maya Douglas, Victoria LePage, Sheri Payne and Ginger Grant, who brought the house down with a Lada Gaga number. I think this is the BEST show in town and I never miss an opportunity to bring friends and out of town guests there. Tennis great Jimmy Connors LOVED the show as did NY Housewife Alex McCord and her hubby Simon. Over the course of its long life, the Baton has entertained Lauren Bacall, Joan Crawford, Madonna, Kirk Douglas, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dennis Rodman and many others. Most recently, Janet Jackson brought 25 of her dancers to see the show. The night before, she even invited some of the Baton "girls" up onto her Chicago Theatre stage to perform with her! What a thrill that must've been!!!
Shows are Wednesday through Sunday at 8:30 PM, 10:30 PM and 12:30 AM. Reservations are strongly suggested. Baton Show Lounge, 436 N. Clark, (312) 664-5269. (www.TheBatonShowLounge.com)
