The Best Part of Oscar Night--Chicago Designer BORRIS POWELL WINS THE OSCAR CHALLENGE!

Chicago designer Borris Powell and his "Oscars Designer Challenge 2011" winning design.

What an exciting night for local designer Borris Powell who won the "Oscars Designer Challenge 2011"  this evening!  Borris beat out 9 other designers from all across the country to have his original evening gown worn by one of the Awards escorts during the 83rd Academy Awards Show Sunday night.  Other participating designers included Chicagoans Miriam Cecilia Carlson and James De Colon, Angela Avanesyan (L.A.), Katelyn Bischof (NY), Octavio Carlin (L.A.), Zoe Hong (Oakland, Calif.), Natalia Romano (LA) and Clay Sadler (LA). 

An advisory committee selected the designers and paired them with Los Angeles-based models.  Borris' design and model wore the public's favorite gown as she brought the Oscar statuettes onto the stage of the Kodak Theatre tonight.

Kudos Borris!!!  YOU'RE a WINNER in every way!!!  Valentino even told him he liked his design....talk about high praise from Caesar!   www.BorrisPowell.com
