The Hearts-a-Bluhm Kick-Off Celebration Party at Neiman Marcus last week was packed to the brim on the 4th floor. It was surprising because the event had been rescheduled due to the blizzard and, even on this night, the weather was horrible. But this didn't stop all of the happy people dressed in red, an edict from event founders Kathleen Henson and Julee White, from coming out in force to support this party to celebrate a first-of-its-kind exhibit featuring over 100 acrylic hearts along Michigan Avenue. This effort, by Northwestern Memorial's Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute and Columbia College Chicago, brings awareness for the prevention and treatment of cardivascular disease during the month of February which is National Heart Month. Even Maggie Daley came out to congratulate the event founders along with Neil Bluhm and Dr. Patrick McCarthy, Chief of the Division for Cardiac Surgery for Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Director of Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. Artist Rosemary Fanti presented the "Women With Heart" honorees with beautiful custom illustrations. I will let these fun party pics speak for themselves and hope you get a chance to wander along the avenue and view these creative hearts!! (Each heart also contains a heart healthy tip too!)
