At a packed party with over 450 guests, Chicago Magazine celebrated their 40th anniversary at the James Hotel last night. Publisher and General Manager, Richard Gamble, and Editor Richard Babcock had their hands full greeting every guest who wanted to congratulate them. In this month's magazine, Rich Gamble had this to say, "In 2004, we were the first city monthly ever to win a National Magazine Award for general excellence, tantamount to an Oscar in the magazine business. Our readers have rewarded us with their loyalty: Chicago is the largest city monthly magazine in the United States."
As the magazine moves into its 41st year, they have increased ways to get the news out including an award-winning website (chicagomag.com), a digital edition, Facebook posts and Twitter messages. The latest December issue showcases 40 Reasons to Love Chicago. (It's a must-read).
DJ Megan Taylor rocked the party through the night as guests including Amanda Puck, Greg Hyder, Amalie Drury, Laura Schwartz, Sugar Rautbord, Carmen Rivera and Natalie Sturgis, among many others, mingled with the happy, holiday crowd.
Congrats to one of my FAVORITE MAGAZINES on 40 years of a job well done!
