Playboy Playmates, Pinups and Sexy Cyber Girls return to Chicago for Glamourcon 2010!

Heather Rae Young (Miss Feb. 2010) with Jaime Faith Edmondson (Miss Jan. 2010) at Glamourcon 2010 in Chicago. (They appeared as a double centerfold in the January 2010 issue.)

It was my 4th Glamourcon and every time I've had a chance to meet fellow Playmates whom I've never met before!  This year's 49th Glamourcon at Crowne Plaza had lots of new faces including Julie Cialini (PMOY 1995), Debra Jo Fondren (PMOY 1978), Jaime Faith Edmondson (1/10), Liz Glazowski (4/80), Janis Schmitt (2/78), Penny Baker (1/84), Janet Lupo (11/75), Cathy St. George (8/82), Cindy Fuller (5/59), Helena Antonaccio (6/69), Bridgett Rollins (5/75), Kerri Kendall (9/90), Julie Woodson (4/73), Carrie Yazel (5/91), Dolores Del Monte (3/54), Gig Gangel (1/80), Stacy Arthur (1/91), Crystal McCahill (5/09), Gale Olson (8/68), Kimberly Phillips (9/09), Debra Jensen (1/78), Christina Smith (3/78), Daphnee Duplaix (7/97), Kara Monaco (PMOY 2006), Tiffany Selby (7/07) and Valerie Mason (9/08) among many others!

For those of you unfamiliar with Glamourcon, it is the premier glamour collectible event with an emphasis on Playboy and Playboy Playmates.  :-)

My observations on this year's event are:

1) Bob Schultz, Glamourcon Founder,  is doing a great job of bringing these events coast to coast!  Hef should be coming to these and thanking him!!!

2) Debra Jensen has the greatest sense of humor!  Kept me in stitches the entire 2 days!

3) Christina Smith has the only signed copy of the first issue of Playboy's Marilyn I've ever seen and IT'S FOR SALE!

4) Cathy St. George is the most entrepeneurial...her wines with her glam image on the bottle are a must-have gift!!!

5) Dolores Del Monte has the best stories about Playboy's history and her own extensive archive of photos.  She needs her own show!

6) Bridgett Rollins still has that wide-eyed charming innocence that she had for her centerfold in 1975.  She was also one of the youngest Playmates at 18!

7) Janet Lupo gets sexier every year!  She is taking youth pills and I want some!!!

8) Janis Schmitt is the sweetest PM....her quiet down home charm and sexy looks kept her table full for 2 days with adoring fans.  It was her 1st Glamourcon but I hope it won't be her last!

9) Penny Baker's hair is even fuller now than for her Playmate shoot in 1984!  It isn't fair!

10) Debra Jo Fondren still has the BEST hair in the business!

11) Cindy Fuller's 1959 centerfold was the cutest I've ever seen (holding a towel in her mouth)...it was the epitome of the "Girl Next Door Look" and I wish we did more like this one!

12) Liz Glazowski's figure is even better NOW!  Wahhhh!  Not fair!

13) Gig Gangel has the cutest cowboy hubby!

14) Wil Rivers and Tom Shimada are top fans and friends of Playmates!  Tom even found another cover that I didn't know I had!  Caballero Feb. 1979!

15) United Airlines pilot, Christopher "Bloke" Maurer, is my new favorite friend!  He had been carrying around my Sept. 1986 Spanish double cover for me to sign and then wound up GIVING IT TO ME at the show!  I was blown away by this kind and oh-so generous gesture.  I signed every pic I had for him and will have another surprise heading his way soon!  Love you BLOKE!

16)  Larry Armstrong continues to make Playmates who are new to Glamourcon feel totally at ease and equipped with all of the right pics!  We all thank you Larry for all you do for us!

17) Jeff Evans is another friend of the Playmates and I wish him lots of luck with his upcoming eye surgery....he was a BIG help to all of us!

18)  The other Cybergirls and models at the show all rocked their booths too especially my two favorites, Alexah Adams and Kristy Ann Keppel!  They were gorgeous, sexy and happy to pose with fans and friends.

19)  I wonder what it will be like at Long Beach on November 13th and 14th?  :-)  Hef, are you listening???!!!!

And now, take a peek at my pics from Glamourcon 2010!

  • Candid C: How many people will discover your ChicagoNow blog, "hit and run" with the material you post, and neglect to thank you for such uncommon generosity? Who knows and who cares, right? Well, I count as one who WANTS to express my most sincere appreciation for your Glamourcon 49 post, in particular. It would've been enough for you to write about your lively impressions of the event, but you also included 46 photos--including a handful featuring Liz Glazowski, a personal favorite whom it was a joy to see again (in your photos) after thirty years out of the spotlight. I'm a summa cum laude DePaul grad and alumnus; and although I live in the "Wild West" now, I retain the fondest memories of the city, its Polish neighborhoods, and its very special "Liz connection." Why continue bawling that I couldn't attend GC 49 and meet her when--thanks to you--I can "say hello" to her in the wonderful photos you posted. I think my favorite pic--for more than one reason--is #45. So here's to ya, toots. Thanks a million for the post(s). I just disovered your blog today, and it made my day. Wishing you good fortune always, "LizFan" Brent in Arizona

So sorry "Liz Fan Brent"! I called you Harold??!!! I am running with scissors here...so sorry! Don't know what I was thinking! Thanks again for the nice comment!!!!

  • In reply to northbreed1:

Wow! A message from the grand dame herself! Gee, naw, you can call me "Harold" or just about anything you please, Candace. (wink) Seriously, I am "Brent,"--er, ahem, "LizFan Brent"--and I thank YOU once again! I do hope to attend GC #50...

  • In reply to northbreed1:

Candace: I was "counting on you" to deliver on your ChicagoNow blog with plenty o' pix from Glamourcon #50 in Long Beach! Wha'ppened? Obviously you couldn't or wouldn't go--and, well, neither could I--and here I was waiting for you to spoil me again with your renowned "picture-mania." Sigh. Hope you're well! Signed, "your Harold" (see previous comments)
