Playboy's 50th Anniversary Playmate Co-Hosts Bridget Marquardt, me, Crystal McCahill and Ida Ljungqvist.
For Playboy's 50th Anniversary Party, Playboy hosted 50 parties in 50 cities around the world on June 10th. The site for the Chicago festivities was the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind. Thursday night. I was a co-host (as Miss Dec. 1979 and Chicago's Playboy Bunny of the Year) along with Bridget Marquardt (Hef's former girlfriend and star of the hit show "The Girls Next Door"), Ida Ljungqvist (2009 Playmate of the Year) and Crystal McCahill (Miss May 2009). (Holly Madison hosted the party in Las Vegas.)
Playboy and Horseshoe had conducted a Chicagoland Bunny Search in the weeks leading up to the main event last night. Girls competed at nightlife destinations around Chicago and Northwest Indiana and the finalists were presented onstage last night. The winner, Stephanie Miceli, will be featured on PlayboyClub50.com and will have her photos submitted to Hef for consideration in the magazine. Additionally, the winner and runner-ups will be invited to Playboy's 50th Anniversary Party.
Q101's Steve Tingle was the emcee and we all got a chance to address the crowd. There was a video of Hef welcoming everyone to the party and on the 3 large screens there were streaming photos of past Playmates too. Before the event, everyone walked the Red Carpet. I brought friends Kathy Piccone and Carol Gipson (from Gibson's Restaurant). Kathy was sporting an amazing Blackhawks handbag that owner, Rocky Wirtz, had given to her earlier and it was a real crowd pleaser! (Gibson's also hosted Lord Stanley's Cup earlier in the day when the entire team stopped in with it!)
All of the girls were lovely and judges Bridget and Chicago Bear's Lance Briggs had trouble deciding. But in the end lovely Stephanie Miceli donned the golden Bunny ears!
Congrats to all of the girls and to Playboy on their 50th! I was thrilled to be a part of it!
