On Saturday, June 19th, Robert Downey, Jr. will be presented with the Gene Siskel Film Center Renaissance Award at the Ritz-Carlton (160 E. Pearson St.) The event, entitled "An Evening With Robert Downey, Jr." will include cocktails, dinner, incredible live auction packages and wonderful raffle opportunities.
Robert Downey, Jr. is one of our most respected and versatile actors of his generation. He is the winner of two Golden Globe Awards and has twice been nominated for an Academy Award for his performances in "Chaplin" and "Tropic Thunder."
Acting since the age of 5, Downey has appeared in such recent hits as Sherlock Holmes, Iron Man, The Soloist, Charlie Bartlett, Zodiac, A Scanner Darkly, Fur and Kiss Kiss, Bang, Bang as well as the upcoming Iron Man 2 which has just been given 3 stars by Roger Ebert. Ebert calls it "a polished, high-octane sequel."
Downey will be interviewed at the event by guest host Todd Phillips. Benefit co-chairs are Ellen Sandor and Bill Marcus.
