The Modern Vintage Chicago Show is not just about your mother's old handbags!! This show was incredible with tons of enticing goodies to buy! Over 60 vintage dealers from across the country and 15 emerging new designers showcased a variety of unique items that included men's and women's clothing, costume and estate jewelry, shoes, hats, belts, scarves and textiles. The eras ranged from Mid-Century, Art Deco, Art Nouveau and Victorian on into the 60's and 70's. There was something for everyone at Plumber's Hall, 1340 W. Washington, on this sunny day.
A Costume Council champagne reception honored legendary Nena Ivon as MVC's new Fashion Director and Caroline Ashleigh, from Antiques Roadshow, was also on hand with her new book, "Warman's Shoes Field Guide." There was a creative fashion show featuring innovative prom looks created from vintage attire that should have all of the mothers and daughters clapping with glee! Finally you can find a one-of-a-kind outfit that won't break the bank for your special night! MVC's Founder/Producer, Sally Schwartz, welcomed designers Lauren Lein, Agga B, Double Stitch, Lisa Strecker, Axis of Evelyn, LUCIUS Fine Jewelry, Bobbi Kahn Design, Ladysmith Jewelry Studio, Paoo Jewelry and Happy Katt to this unique new aspect of the Randolph Street Market.
The next Modern Vintage Chicago will be on October 23rd--24th with a preview shopping party Friday night, October 23rd from 5-7 PM. Don't miss it! You'll thank me later! (Extra pics by Steve Starr)

Candace, THANK YOU so much for this wonderful write up and shout out -- it was such fun drinking mimosa's (not you, just me!) and watching you do your thing at Modern Vintage Chicago's Spring Explosion! Our out of town, and local, vendors loved the attention and knew they were at a happening event because you were covering it. We loved having you and Candid Candace :) hope to see you this summer at Randolph Street Market!
