Bulls 126, Lakers 115 in Kobe Bryant's final United Center game
The Bulls shot a season-high 55.7%, including 68.4% (13/19) from 3-point range, as they defeated the Lakers 126-115 in Kobe Bryant’s final game at the United Center. (No apologies for the oversized Kobe picture, a man with his resume deserves it) Derrick Rose and E’Twaun Moore (10/14 FG, 4/4 3’s) each had 24 points to... Read more »

Derrick Rose injures (fill in the blank)

Derrick Rose injures (fill in the blank)
Derrick Rose missed the second half of the Bulls’ 114-109 loss to the Nuggets in Denver on Tuesday. Yeah, I know, big surprise right? Let me first point out that my headline (and the following template) are stolen from a Facebook post by my buddy Paul M. Banks, the brains behind The Sports Bank: Become... Read more »

Lakers fire head coach Mike Brown

Lakers fire head coach Mike Brown
In what might be the quickest firing to start a season in NBA history, the Lakers have fired head coach Mike Brown five games into the season. The Lakers are off to a horrible 1-4 start, even though they were considered anywhere from heavy favorites to mortal locks to get to the NBA Finals this... Read more »

Hey Kobe: Forget the Dream Team, 2012 Team USA couldn't beat the 1996 Bulls

Hey Kobe: Forget the Dream Team, 2012 Team USA couldn't beat the 1996 Bulls
Forget about the Dream Team Kobe, your current squad couldn’t beat the greatest TEAM ever, the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. First of all, the ’96 Bulls’ offensive team was unstoppable- with three-point shooting from Kerr (52%), Jordan (43%), Kukoc (40%) and Pippen (37%) with Rodman to chase down the misses? The two greatest point forwards of... Read more »

Will the Bulls Trade Boozer to the Lakers for Gasol?

Will the Bulls Trade Boozer to the Lakers for Gasol?
I’m not one to start- or believe, for that matter- crazy trade rumors. You read and hear so much noise that most of it just goes in one ear and out the other. But this one might be different. Someone I trust told me a few days ago that he heard the Bulls were looking... Read more »

    Bullsville

Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. The same year (1980), as a student assistant at Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
