Lance Stephenson - should the Bulls go after him this summer?

Lance Stephenson - should the Bulls go after him this summer?
Lance Stephenson is incredibly talented, athletic and energetic. But Lance Stephenson is also immature, selfish, and childish at times. Lance Stephenson is also an unrestricted free agent, and a player with his skills and upside should be highly coveted all across the NBA. But a player with faults will also scare off many teams who... Read more »

Paying the NBA luxury tax for a winner- the truth behind the myth

Paying the NBA luxury tax for a winner- the truth behind the myth
I guess to the untrained eye, it makes sense that the team that spends the most money on players and pays the NBA luxury tax will have the best team. After all, the best players make the most money, so if your team spends the most money, they should have more good players, right? Wrong.... Read more »

Bulls at Pacers Game Blog Live

Bulls at Pacers Game Blog Live
It’s almost game time in Indiana, and hopefully the Bulls will show up and play a complete game tonight. If Derrick Rose decides to show up and not play like he’s made of bondo, the Bulls can win this one. If he does something like another 15 points of 5/20 shooting with 5 assists and... Read more »

Bulls 2-0 in preseason... what does it mean? And what the hell was Frank Vogel doing?

Bulls 2-0 in preseason... what does it mean? And what the hell was Frank Vogel doing?
The Bulls have looked pretty good so far in the pre-season, not because they are 2-0 but mostly because Derrick Rose looks healthy. That was the #1 question of the offseason for Bulls fans, whether or not Rose would be 110% when training camp opened- well he is, so no worries there. But how they... Read more »

Pacers Hand Bulls First Home Loss of the Season, 95-90
If you were watching tonight’s Bulls/Pacers game and thinking “am I the only one who thinks the officiating sucks in this game”, let me clear your mind and reassure you that you’re definitely not alone. Danny Granger’s 22 points led six Pacers in double figures, and Indiana overcame a 10 point halftime deficit to defeat... Read more »

Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. The same year (1980), as a student assistant at Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
